Scangauge is pulling up P0343 as a TC and P0340 as a PTC on my 2012 Tacoma Prerunner v6. Haynes shows how to replace it all and I'm good on replacing the sensor, just wondering if this seems normal for a 2012 under 70k miles (I put on about 8k/year).

Wife's car was having some issues the other day and died and struggled to start then had a rough idle for about 4 miles on the way home. She was around 1/4 tank or so and I assumed bad/watered gas since we've gotten a ton of rain in Nashville. Ran a bottle of Heet and a full tank in her car and no issues.

Truck is around 1/4 tank and wondering if I'm experiencing the same fuel issues. I put in a bottle of Heet and am going to fill it up unless anyone objects to driving it in this position. If it hits limp-mode (not sure why it would for CMP) I'm only .5 miles from a gas station. I will also be checking and gapping the plugs if needed since I'm on vacation and can tinker at home in the garage.

Check to make sure no critters have chewed through the wires.

First thing on my list to check for, and look what I found!

I'm guessing it's an easy fix since it's just wiring. Trying to remove the three wires from the existing 12353 connector and wire in new heads. Damn sonofabitch bastards chew so close to the connector I don't know I can get it out.

For the future person Googling this trouble code: something chewed through one of the three wires going to this VVT sensor in my V6 Tacoma. Bought a pigtail harness for a Scion to wire in and replace. I believe it is a Delphi sensor and the connector part number shows 12353. Amazon said it wasn't a fit for my truck but it fits. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07681CBFC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Hope this helps your resolution! Nothing worse than Googling an issue, finding a forum thread, and someone saying they will report back and it's been seven years.

I appreciate you posting pics and the replacement part. I had the exact same problem when I woke up this morning and this post was the only real result. I've ordered the harness from Amazon. Let's hope it works. Curious that something chewed the exact same wire on mine...
