My fiancee and i do a lot of camping and I just picked up a used tacoma this year and we finally can manage a more robust camp kitchen setup. Just curious, what route everyone has gone, what they liked/didn't like about their setup.

I have some plans in CAD for a camp kitchen design I'm working on to hide our stove and all our cooking gear. Problem is mostly access to power tools to make and store materials for this kitchen box. If you made your kitchens I'd like to see what some of you have designed.

Kelty Binto Bags. They stopped making these little godsends several years ago, but you can occasionally find good deals for used ones on eBay. Great for portable storage of dry goods. I moved from a tent to a trailer and disassembled my camp kitchen in the process, but I still use those Binto bags for carrying the groceries/dogfood on weekend trips.

@InfernoChalupa ahh that makes sense. My main reservation with a swing out setup is if I'm using a walk in site, then it would be a little less flexible.

I picked up this unicorn off of Facebook a couple weeks back. It’s a Campmate Kitchen Box. All I’ve done is add some stickers. Researched ideas for a while and never saw this till it showed up on Market Place.

Technically no, it is a cheap ~40$ Plano case... but it is dust and water tight, same concept, a little lighter and less heavy duty.

Thanks, been running it for over a year and it definitely makes for a nice kitchen area.

Ohhh man, I am in the process of trying to piece together a kitchen as well. I am going for more of a no compromise robust cooking solution rather than a simple compact setup, so I imagine I will be piecing it together for awhile.

Check out Marco's OVRLNDX build. It is a jeep build, but it is totally decked out for gourmet cooking. There is a specific YouTube episode on Trail Recon that features Marco cooking a few meals out of his Jeep, and it shows his setup and all the gear and cooking methods he uses. I will link it if I can find it.

    EDIT: Here it is!

I've seen a few of these turn up now and again on ebay and for whatever reason, the ones i've seen, the sellers want way more than I'm willing to pay for it. How would you say the build quality is on it so far? It's definitely got a bit of a vintage tupperware vibe going on.

In my opionion it is solid and was exactly what I was looking for. I only paid $100. I thought that was a steal since I couldn’t find any for sale except on eBay for $250 and up plus shipping.

I really like my blue sky kitchen- bought the plans and built the grubby one maybe 10 yrs ago and am still using it, but this is my new kitchen designed off the skin and bones idea that blue sky uses

We picked up a Campmate kitchen on Ebay that ended up being free because when it arrived, the lid was cracked. I glued it back together and it's been going strong. It's not cheap plastic - it feels and has that retro kitchen vibe, which is fine. What I really love is the design. It rocks. The swing outs and the vertical-ness of it and the drawers make it super easy to cook and access everything we need quickly. I think it was posted for $300 and had we paid for it, it would have been worth it, esp. because other newer kitchens don't have such a useful design IMHO and I'm not handy enough to make some of the other options here (which probably also add up $ wise).
