The living room is finally at a place where the new surround sound system can be installed. I did install the TV wall mount bracket and prepped the drywall for the TV cable installation process.

    Good morning Susan, gang,
Guess my miles driven each year post retirement was way less than calculated when I was figuring if I would save money getting down to one vehicle, saving maintenance and insurance/registration fees. Did my calculating based on I think 18,000 miles a year, but only went a little over 7,000 last 12 months, so saving even more. Happy about that, just too bad I had to sell my nice Civic. With hardly going anywhere last year, my average per month is under 1,000 miles/month now. Had the truck 37 months.

    Evening all:
Ran the Tacoma through an automatic car wash, ran the Chevy truck through another automatic car wash, (getting lazy)! Got the zero turn started after charging the batt., picked up some more sticks, cleaned up the boat today, checked and aired the 1648 boat trailer tires and the spare, checked and aired the Chevy truck tires and the spare, checked and aired the Tacoma tires, and lots more spring THINGS to do!
At least I got off to a good early start this year.

    Looking good Tom!

Carl: It was a week that brought a few extra pains to the body. Who knew that painting and cleaning windows and blinds used so many different muscles. All is well now. Going to fire up the system today and tune the speakers to the room.

Worked in the yard Saturday getting up a massive amount of Live Oak leaves then went to the nursery and bought two Owari Satsuma trees.

Need to get some bone meal ( fertilizer) and plant them today.

Don't want to think about it but need to get my income tax records together and take them to the accountant.

I'm sure this is political, our new Governor and controlling party are going to ignore the vote of the people and not allow the death penalty and working on going around rent control. All voted down by Kalifornia voters. Dictatorship? Maybe they should instead cut all the crazy ordinances that drive housing costs up!

Just great to not have any rain for over 3 days now! Going outside into the sun... Alas, a new storm hits us Tuesday night here in SoCal.

64 on my deck, snow is clear on the sides of it but not the lower end where I push snow that sheds off the roof and deck. Some rain expected up north here too, not much. Bulbs on the end of my mobilehome were up a little a few weeks ago before all this snow came, snow is melting off of them, they show a couple inches above ground now. Still almost two feet down towards the creek. Back is out so made an appointment with the bone cracker for Wednesday.
Lost out on evilbay for a rare stove, it sold for $8400, I was going to raise my bid to $2300, but by then it was $3,000.

Well, if I go up the hill behind my home, I can see snow on the nearby mountains (the ones over 7,000'). I am a bit closer to sea level and it is 76°F and wonderful outside (north county San Diego).

Dang Duane, $8,400 for a camp stove, and I thought that $2,500 for an air cleaner for my 66 is a bit much! Heck, around 1968-1970 you could have probably bought the whole car for that!

Yes, didn't even look like a Asian buyer.
Pretty rare stove. If my finances had been a little better, I still would not have gone much more than I noted.

Very rare stove. Last one was 2400. Same stove, minor details were different.
Now, we might see more of them for sale. Or not.

Looks like there are just too many stove collectors out there, now they are driving the prices up!
One of the guys I worked with collected straight edge razors when no one wanted them and they were cheap, he stopped when it seemed everyone started collecting them and the prices escalated well past what he was willing to pay for them.

    Good morning all,
One stove member I have met a couple times has been collecting over 20 some years. Stoves he picked up years ago for near yard sale prices go for good money now. I've noticed a few have had a big uptick in price whereas a few years ago they were like the neglected stepchild. One model I have I was able to get only a couple years ago is going for twice the price on the bay right now, I've had one guy bug me a couple times to sell to him, told him it was in my collection. On one stove/lantern forum I belong to, there are a few guys who collect razors too.
