It's possible. I just can't respond in the affirmative that it is. I could try and find it again, I'm headed back into the desert in April.

So did some more digging and geographically, I may have been turned around. I'm a lot more certain we came at the south entrance to the Mojave which is also Kelbaker road and the wreckage is this one:

    https://joeidoni.smugmug.com/Aircraft-Crash-Sites/Mojave-Aero-Commander-500S/

I asked my friend and he remembered just going a little bit off the road and having to climb up to the site.

I think that most of the MT mentioned stuff is pretty common knowledge and not some super secret place but maybe it could lead you to some new adventure

    Mods? Yes, oh yes..
rad. as a kid (boy scouts) we saw a lot of plane crashes, abandoned mine and logging stuff. Now this was before cellphones and taking a heavy 35mm backpacking wasn't happening unless you were Galen Rowell or worked for natgeo.

The craziest thing I remember was an old rusted heap of some machine these miners hauled up a cliff next to a exploration dig. It was 300+ feet down and above was a sheer cliff on the side of mesa. We sat there for almost a day talking about how in the world they got it up there. Adults in the group were an engineer, theoretical physicist, fireman engineer and a contractor. They were genuinely stumped. The main piece of the equipment we estimated at over 1000lbs. Our best guess was whatever logs, trees and rigging they had setup was just as impressive because it was open/exposed rock face. Where are you going to get a post into the ground? Gold fever will make you do crazy stuff.

Found a dead guy one time, almost urinated on him, Nanimo BC.
    That was the weirdest.

Found some Bigfoot tracks and what appeared to be a large pile of grass that it had pooped out, reminded me of the way a dog will eat grass if they have a belly ache.
The guy with me was FREAKED out.
Got a foot print cast the next day when we went back.
