Hmm, doubt it’s hydraulic/clutch related given this info. Sounds like there is some internal damage with the shift forks/synchros.

What fluid did you put in? I had all kinds of issues with the wrong fluid in my nissans 6MT when I changed it with the wrong fluid the first time. Swapped back to the Nissan stuff and then Redline the next time and everything is back to normal.

Gl5, but it did this before the fluid change. I changed the master and slave cylinders. Adjusted the pedal. Same issue still. When it grinds in 1st if I put it back in neutral it will go in to first which I don't believe I could do before I put the new parts on.

I honestly think that, but I think I'd rather pull the transmission twice than buy one that I don't end up needing. It actually seems slightly better after I replaced the master and slave cylinder. I don't have to hit R now to get in to 1st. I can hit N for few seconds and it will go in. 3 day weekend, time to drop the transmission.

No previous owner messed the tranny up. when he did his short throw shifter he also installed the vent plate backwards making it tough to shift into 1st and reverse . my 2004 had more that 147k and it never did that. Usually it is started by the clutch going bad and someone driving it that way to long and it causes damage to the syncros. I also have a lovely crunch going into second gear now that has started in the last 9 months. so im looking for a rebuilt under $750 I can pull the tranny and have it re-built for like $600-750 so im just waiting to see what is going out and how soon.
