This is a picture inside my throttlebody, '88 3zve. The truck only had 29k miles when I bought it in 2006. It had 66k miles on it now but all the sitting had taken a toll. Lots of small oil leaks and it seems that the valve seals are too. I don't think the rings are bad since the compression is decent. 20190321_083310.jpg

I guess I'm on my own here. I assume rebuilding is best option.

Compression is good between all cylinders, 167-171, I probably just rebuild the heads. I'll still pull the engine and replace the clutch and turn the flywheel. How should I clean all the buildup inside the intake? Since I'm planning to pull the engine, would it be best to replace rings and clean or replace pistons?

clean out the throttle body and change the oil and run it, all motor oil has detergent additives to help keep the inside clean

hard to believe a Toyota engine needs a rebuild at 66k miles this isn't no where near the norm for any model engine in Toyota trucks since day 1o_O

The problem is the truck sat so long, I believe the odo read 27k miles when I bought in 06. The seals are leaking from being dry over years. The engine oddly does not emit blue smoke, even on startup. It does smell of burnt oil but it coming from the engine, where oil is leaking.
