You can get flip keys and transponder chips on eBay. You will also need a copy of Techstream to program the key. I had one set up, but eventually the two halves started to separate and I didn't want to have to glue it together. In the end it was more of a hassle than the stock key.

The flip key I bought would not program, even though the description said it was hkey compatible. It was similar to this one:

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Key-Chip-Transponder-H-8A-Chip-128-/332535940878?hash=item4d6cafc70e

I ended up buying this transponder and it worked. You key may be different.

If you have a manual you get an old school key. It is because of the clutch button start.

Any updates to a flip-key solution. I'm fine with not having a push start, but condensing what I put in my pocket would be fantastic. Forget about recommending MESO. Horrible review on that one and they are never in stock.

Probably not what you want to here but I bought some SR key blanks without keyless entry and had them cut and programmed by a local ‘Auto Locksmith ‘

much less bulky than the big key

I’m not worried about theft with the MT and I can lock it when I want to

Always. Just a heads up—I think the max number of keys allowed is 5. I bought extra keys and have them at the office and a friends house so I am never locked out. Also a non-programmed (but cut) hard key is a cheap easy way to allow access to the vehicle in a hide a key with zero risk of theft of the vehicle

Have you done this? I was eyeballing it, but unsure if I should be deterred by the reviews of cheap materials and the trouble of getting the transponder out.

I have, but I still haven't gotten around to getting my key cut so I have not used it yet. Getting the transponder out is easy if you have a heat gun.

As far as quality, it's okay at best. It's fairly light and I've definitely had better after market flip keys, but it should do the trick.

I’ve been using this key for a couple months now. The material does feel cheap-ish, but I just make sure to always hold it by the key blade when I twist. The red paint is coming off of the alarm button but the others are still fine.

Getting the transponder out was not difficult at all. I just hit it with a heat gun and used an exacto blade to cut the softened glue. I then slid it under an opening in the fob linked above, and hit it with the heat gun again so the glue adheres to the new fob.

Overall I’m happy with it, and it feels much better sitting in my pocket.
