Not sure what you were getting at with your analogy, but...

It did look legit, but it wasn't cheap either. There was 2 torque wrenches and they were around $80-100.

There's a 20% off coupon through the weekend if that helps.

Good info. My Craftsman 1/2 drive has failed and I was looking at the HF ones, but questioned their precision & reliability.

Nothing too exciting... maybe a little rust
I did a little research a while back and I saw many recommendations for it. The Predator engine is basically a rebranded Honda and can even take Honda replacement parts. And worst case if you ever need to replace the engine you can get it at HF for $100. I plan to buy the same one here after I get caught back up from buying the US General box I am still waiting for.

I bought one 1/2 drive torque wrench from HF. It failed in 6 years. However, it came lifetime warranty. So I brought the old one into a local store and got a new one w/o any question asked. No receipt is needed. So I don't worry about the reliability. As far as the precision, you may want to calibrate it if you doubt it.

i've had one fail took it back and it was super convenient. It's accurate enough for most anyone. We've used them to build KTM engines which I would think have strict tolerances.

What do you want to do with it?

For a chargers, it is not going to be good for float charging. If you are deep cycling batteries that often, it might be better to grab a real battery tender?

If for jumping, I went here:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074M8HXYF

Great for travel and jumps like a champ.

My experience with HF. It its pneumatic or electric do not buy it, no matter how good the deal. Their hand tools are well suited for those of us who don't earn a living using them. I will say that you can buy an extended warranty on just about all of their products. My issue is that when I'm working on something the last thing I want to do is to drive to HF for a warranty exchange but to each their own.

They are getting better but the ‘good’ stuff is so close in price to Milwaukee or other known quality brand that the value proposition isn’t there. The only possible exception is the air compressors. It’s hard to find a better deal for occasional use.

The steel stuff like the shop press, jacks and stands are a great value.

I’ve only had one bad experience with their air tools. I returned it and got another and it continued to be as good as the others.

For that matter, their Earthquake air impacts are well reviewed. I’m less inclined to try and electric tools unless I’m buying it as a beater. One of my coworkers has a Bauer drill and it’s been great, he’s abused it for a year. I wouldn’t buy one for me, but if I had one issued or given to me I wouldn’t be unhappy.

The 1x30 sander I have has also been great, it’s probably 10 years old now.

The nail guns are actually pretty good, just don't use their nails because they are soft as hell. I have their 18 gage brad nailer and 23 gage headless pin nailer and they have been used ton.
