Oh My! Thank you sir for such a nice prize. I think it deserves some green along with all that pink. :D

Traditionally, auto's have had more axle wrap issues, sooner in the spring packs service life. It could be due to the differences in how trucks with auto tranny's brake compared to manuals.

Checked everything out today - greased driveshaft, checked carrier bearing and slip yoke - all is well and good with my Toy. And I put a few miles on for good measure - no change really. Was going to change out the differentials too but the only parts store open today only had 2 quarts of Castrol 75w-90 in stock  ...sucks to live in a small town sometimes. Guess that will have to wait for another weekend.

I'm not sure how much it'll help, but a few weeks ago I ran into this thread in the technical chat section.

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/technical-chat/4838-cheap-free-mods.html

under "mods" #34 right below 2nd Gen DIY, theres a link that discusses Leaf spring helpers found usually at any auto parts store. (Had to order mine from kragen/O'Reilly)

they normally talk about 2nd gens, but I figured $30 and 30min it takes to install, it couldn't hurt to try. I have a 2001 ext cab prerunner with 201k miles, mostly stock except for TRD bilsteins. So far I have felt no axle wrap and improved body roll. I've only put a couple hundred miles on it so far, so I can't say from experience how long it works, but at the moment I'm pretty happy!
