    I just want to make a small update. I ordered the mishimoto radiator, its made in china and its basically as good as any other china radiator. I dont have high hopes.

    Been running that one on my 93 for 6 yrs live it cools better. But i also did a reverse flow on the coolant because of the exhaust cross tube right next to the heads.

    Its a great looking unit but I dont need a radiator that is double the price, Rated for 600 horsepower or to look like Liberace climbed under my hood.

    @Timmah!

    I have been looking around for an OEM and all part stores say it is discontinued. Do you know where I could find an OEM?

    The last one I got from Camelback Toyota last year for my 98 4runner was different than the one I bought for 2000 4unner around 5 years ago. The one I got 5 years ago looked identical to my original radiator and it cost around $200. The one I got last year cost only around $120 but it definitely looked different and it felt cheaper. The trans cooler fittings seemed flimsier and the drain no longer had the nice little hole to direct the stream of coolant straight downward. Now it just dribbles out the plastic threads. I guess whoever was the supplier stopped making them for whatever reason. Kind of a bummer. I don't plan on using this radiator for any further than 100k miles and then I'll get another one for extra insurance.

    I am going to call Champion tomorrow. Their an hour and 20 minutes away. The Autozone radiator I bought, WILL NOT line up with the original mounting holes (98 taco, 2.4L)... The core alone is 3/8" wider than oem, height is okay at 18-11/16"

    I got mine from Amazon. It was like $100 almost 1.5 years ago. Put almost 30k miles through it already. No issues no probalems at all. If I remember correctly the mounting bracket was off by a C-hair. Works great and was cheap. No core charge either!!

    I also had very good luck with Hawkins radiator (radiator.com I beileve) resonabale and their Warrentees are 50 state valid. Like discount tire. You can take it to any shop on their list to get it replaced under warrantee

    To avoid the bottom tank exposure you need a radiator for a RWD, I am running the Champion CC1778, for about a year and a half, bought 3 yrs ago. Have heard about some quality control issues on the construction (3 row) with failures happening after about 25-35k miles. So I’m still searching for a possible upgrade, with fingers crossed.

    OME and worth every penny.
    You can't buy OEM any longer. They came with Harrisons. I met a guy a couple weeks ago still running his from '98. To me that would be scarier than a 100 dollar O'Really's.

    Replaced mine with a Spectra Premium B1778 for about 100 bucks. Because mine is a MTX I capped off the port that runs to cool ATX(s).

    Most Aftermarket radiators Come with the Cooler not much you can do it won`t hurt anything.

    If you can find one without the cooler go for it one less then to fail

    The stick shift rads will be shorter and have no tranny cooler. I like them better because they dont hang as low. I toss my skid plate the 1st oil change. I prefer a stand alone tranny cooler.

    I just installed the Koyorad for a 3rd gen 4runner iny truck. Very happy with it. There's more info about it in the champion rad thread. It doesn't have an internal trans cooler.20200803_184247.jpg
