There is an all foreign yard on that street too but not sure if it's a U-pull

Most u-pulls around me are for older cars like >10years. Seems like other non-upull recyclers scoop up the newer cars for insurance claims?
Good luck finding a third gen. I used to go for fun looking for old valuable BMW parts from e30's or for parts to keep my buddies XJ Cherokee on the road.

Exactly. The dismantlers of the newer vehicles are selling their parts piecemeal, or sending the cars overseas to be poorly repaired, unfortunately.

I don't think I ever saw a Honda / Nissan / Toyota that was less than 6-7 years old in my junkyarding days. Like you, I was always on the hunt for rare OEM Honda accessories. I basically financed my first car build through flipping parts. My personal best was back in probably 2004 and it was a pair of OEM fog lamps for the 1990-1991 Honda Accord. I bought the lamps and switch for $30 at the yard. I sold the lamps for $200 and the switch for $25. Had I been able to pull the harness I could have netted another $60-70. I miss those days. I used to take the cars apart before working on mine so I could learn how to take them apart properly without breaking anything.

Use car part to locate the truck in a junk yard then call and see what their policy is. Most yards (former employee, part puller) do not allow you to pull the parts. Simply request the part you would like and they can pull it for you. The yards dont want customers in the yards for liability issues, as they dont know your skill level and could get hurt.

I know it's an old post but anyone try Holland used auto parts off route 3 Billerica. I've been there in the past and had good luck. I heard of one in medway and used to go to a good one in there Worcester area

Kind of an old thread indeed. Last time I was at Everett's I talked to a counter guy about the lack of Toyota's in the U Pull It part. He said that they don't get a lot of Toyotas in in general because they last so long. Most of what they have are on the "employee only" side of the yard. What they have in the U Pull It side has been pretty well stripped.

Dirtridercrf250 is right about liability. My father owned a salvage yard and there were about a dozen good, commercial customers, that he let into the yard to pick parts. Retail customers were never let back there because of the liability. Salvage yards are inherently dangerous and people just wandering around in shorts and sandals are a law suit waiting to happen.

Anyone walking around in sandals should NEVER be let into the yard anywhere, at least dress for safety for goodness sake
