I would agree with the above comments and in addition Bluetooth if you can find a radio for the right price.

+1, but consider looking for your 4Runner at some dealership or other retailer and see what they might give you for the Tacoma as is. Path of least resistance. You might be surprised...

I will think about it. Already have Bluetooth settled and Cruse control is already installed and works great. Will think about the bed cover and fog lights for sure.

I may try to see what a dealer will give me, but I was always taught to never bring up the trade in first in a negotiation, so I'll have to go to a dealer I don't plan to settle with and definitely not to CarMax.

Just a side note, any aftermarket stuff won’t increase the value in a trade in, and if non oem switches are used it could lower the value. Trade in is almost never worth it. Honestly imo adding anything to the truck is gonna lose you money I would at most add fog lights if you can find it dirt cheap, then sell on Craigslist

In most cases I would agree but this is a unique situation. The OP has minimal $$ invested but a good amount of time and elbow grease. You bring up some other really good points, though.

If I were him, I’d find what I wanted but willing to walk if the numbers didn’t work out for me. Negotiate the price of the new vehicle then discuss trade in. If it didn’t work out, walk. Just a bit of your time and you’d get a ballpark figure on what the Tacoma is worth.

I would "invest" in getting the front bumper (and hood) painted, I think that would help a lot with the perceived value of the truck.

OP has somewhere around $1500 invested in the truck already. Probably better off just trying to sell it as is.

I wouldn't invest in a bed cover if your planning on selling it future buyers might want an open bed for hauling and would be a waste of your own money, if you were to keep the truck and needed weather proof carrying and security id get one, those covers wont add much to the selling price. I would get some Fog lights tho you can get a get kit from EBAY that wont break the bank and will enchance the trucks looks and selling price.https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/budget-led-ebay-foglights.591735/#post-19789517

Plot twist, he sold it and no longer owns a Tacoma so he decided not to come back.

I don't on any webpages but I do have all the photos from the build. I'll have to post them to a photo sharing site and send a link to those interested
