Thanks in advance for your help.
    I have a 1987 Toyota Truck 4 wheel drive(original owner) 143,000 miles.
The truck has been used very little over the last 6 years. During that time I would start it every 4 months and drive it a couple of miles. The last time I took it out the truck made an annoying sound when turning but drove ok. recently when I attempted to drive it again the steering doesn't seem to work(the steering wheel is hard to turn). I'd like to get the vehicle ready to sell as it just sits around all the time. Any ideas about the steering issue?

    Welcome to TacomaWorld!

I would say you should probably post in the Trucks and SUV’s section.

The New Member section is really just for introductions.

Sounds like power steering for sure. Check fluid first, they usually start making noise when the fluid is low. Make sure you use the correct fluid, should say on the cap. Some of the older trucks used different fluid.
