1st timer here. I'm a two finger typist with lousy tech skills. It's why I had kids! I purchased a prerunner with tow package in 08 to plan for this event... I retired this year as did my wife and we would like to buy a small rv and travel with a little. So I'm hoping to learn from others experience as to what weight capacity my taco will handle adequately.

Thanks for the warm reception. I've been busy reading threads on towing capacities. hard for me to do two things at once on a computer, but I'm getting better!

I completed 35 years in school system. Still plan on some part time work, but want to do some 3-4 day camping trips around the state. Was looking at hybrids due to the reduced weight, but with the repeated issues of eaks may go more traditional TT route with an increase in weight.

Thanks for all the help. I've been reading the towing bible. looked at a used dutchman sport today. 05, 26 ft 4300uvw. It seemed a bit much for the truck. I've been looking at a new Grey Wolf or Salem in the 17 to 19 ft range, both in the mid to high 3000s. Seems more reasonable so as the towing guru says. I can enjoy the camping trip, not worrying about the day I have ti hitch up and drive.
