What's your favorite product to keep the plastic flares black?

I'm hearing Kiwi Black Leather dye is a hot tip....not so sure....anyone else got a favorite for keeping plastic and vinyl black and fresh looking?

If it’s already damaged and gray you can bring it back to black with a heat gun.

 

Thanks Vic.....I heard a heat gun just further dries it out though and results are only temporary and not continually repeatable?

This stuff is cheap and works fantastic

 

Turtle Wax Ultimate. It seems to work wonders for me

Used it on my old wrangler, the guys on the Jeep forum used to do this. Did it when I bought it, they were a light gray and chalky, still were black 5 years later, never garaged in the Caribbean sun. I also did it to my wifes Rav4 about a year and a half ago and it still looks good.
I’ve never used wipe new, but mother’s Back to Black is garbage compared to the heat gun.
I think the heat gun is the only somewhat permanent method, but I probably wouldn’t do it unless the plastic is already pretty damaged.

 

I've had good luck with a product named Bondo Restore Black on a composite bed. Restore Black treatment lasts about 6 to 7 months.

There is also Krylon Fusion Plastic paint that I used on an engine cover that has held up to engine heat for 9 years. Here are some pictures of Bondo Restore Black and a picture of the engine cover.











The plastic cover on the valve cover was painted with Krylon Fusion for Plastic paint. That is the only product that I could use to refinish the plastic covers that would not peel off. I'm thinking about using a non-gloss version of it to restore the wheel flares.

 

Hmmmmm…… looks like I can ALSO use this 303 stuff on my premium interior AND get it at Wally Mart?

Mothers 06141 Back-to-Black Heavy Duty Trim Cleaner to clean it and remove wax residue in the trim. Followed by 303 protectant. All 303 products are the best thing ever.

 

Carpro Perl is what I have been using on my arches and even tonneau cover. 303 is always a great choice as well.

 

B2B doesn't last worth spit for me and the truck is garaged.

Will try some of the other suggestions listed here.

Another vote for 303, I use it on my 1st gen and it still looks good.
