I used to hunt happily with lead hollow point ammo and a scoped .22LR .....
The lead ban is here and I haven't read any good reviews about lead free .22 LR. Winchester has a non expanding lightweight zinc HP people report as inaccurate, short ranged and ineffective. CCI's "Short Range Green" (sintered copper/polymer powder) has about the same reviews.

What are you guys using for EDIBLE lead free .22 hunting ammo? I've semi-replaced the rimfire with heavily downloaded centerfire rifles in .22 and .31 with Barnes Varmint Grenade type bullets. So far, the 7.62x39 frangible bullet downloaded to 1,500fps is standing in OK in terms of accuracy and game effect. I don't want varmint bullets blowing up in throwaway "varmints", I need something that probably expands a little, in an affordable way, for edible game.

Is ANYBODY making a desireable, nice lead free .22 rimfire hunting round? I need to get my old boltaction back in the hunting fields.
