General idea using 1/16” cable and added some shrink wrap. I will to upgrade to thicker cable eventually.

Seems like a good size because it doesn't extend the whole length of a doublecab roof. Leaves about another foot or so at the front or back, depending on how you configure it.

You can also run it sideways but it all depends on how you want to play roof rack jenga.

This thread not only helped me out so much in with the decision to buy one of these racks, but also to set it up! With the utmost gratitude, I figured I would post the videos I've done on it here as well since maybe someone will find them as useful as I found this thread. Thanks guys!

I know I drive a 4Runner, but the principals are basically the same.

Prinsu rack assembly with light bar

Prinsu rack build out, roof top tent, 5 gallons of fuel, mud tracks, hi lift, axe, shovel and awning

Prinsu rack install to 4th gen 4runner

    Yescom awning fix

    Well, THAT was super informative!

Those brackets you used for your shovel/axe looked perfect. Where in the hardware store did you get them?

Also the easy DIY tips for some of the things like the metal straps and such were great.

The Amazon awning was informative as well. I may have to look at picking one of those up because current solution is tying off a tarp on the rack and finding trees nearby, which out in the Arizona desert can be a challenge sometimes.

Thanks a ton! as for the brackets, I scooped these at home depot.

The awning was luckily an easy fix, as I didn't see it lasting too long being filled with water all the time. We will see how it hols up to this seasons camping though haha.

Man. Really thinking about adding one of these to my truck. How is the added wind noise? Not too bad. I mean, with my tires it's already loud, so I might not really notice it much. Plus I had MT's before the KO2.

I just removed my CabRack and I haven't noticed a noise difference, my tires make more noise than the rack did

My rig makes so much fucking noise already that I just have the volume up in my stereo and don't worry about it. I'm not trying to do any 70mph drive by's that I need stealth mode for.

Besides, once you start putting shit up there it's going to be way louder than just the rack itself, right?

Same with any change to mpgs. Our rigs have the aerodynamics of a brick so it doesn't take much to make it worse.
