I just ordered the Extreme. The only reason I bought it instead of the base model was the clamp/spreader attachment. I figured it might come in handy sometime.

I have the 60" extreme, got it for my birthday a few years back but it's still too intimidating to use. Testing it out it seems to want to sway with the truck as it lifted, I'll have to practice more with it or get a more secure adapter to fit my sliders.

I have this system, which prevents that. It's pricey, but it's worth it. It's saved me a few times from the jack tipping over.

Most recently I had to lift from my passenger slider to get my front tire up, and get rocks underneath it. I was probably up 50" on the 60" (another argument to go 60" instead of 48") and as I was lowering the jack, it started to tilt. The safe jack system kept it planted though. The base would have easily kicked out without it there. I was impressed.

I'm guilty of never taking my hilift because I don't have a place to mount it inside the cap but after blowing my ball joint last week I ordered the bedside racks from caliraised, going to mount it in there and keep it in there all the time. I'll have to save some pennies for that base but probably worth it if it means I actually lift from the front or rear without puckerbutt

@Kabanstva Just get what you can afford. They are all essentially identical, except the extreme that has extra bits. IMO, the only reason to go with one material or the other is weight. They all operate the same.

Whatever you do, the main thing is to KNOW how to use it. Don't just mount it to your brolander and assume it'll be fine. Use it at home. Watch a bunch of videos. Respect it. Don't stick your face near the handle, etc... As with anything, it can be dangerous, but so is anything that isn't used properly. There are plenty of how-to youtube videos out there. Watch 'em.

Better to have one and not need one, than need one and not have one...

I've never needed one either, but I still have one.

If it weren't for the "jeep needs" thing, I'd be all over that.

Probably just sand it off and put a Toyota sticker on it, lol

I've seen people use a shackle (earlier in this thread). I kinda go back and forth on that. On the one hand, it wasn't designed for that kind of use (could scratch the shackle and cause an eventual crack to form), but then you have shackles used with snatch blocks, so it's probably fine.

Just not as secure as the thing in the link.

I would be mostly worried about it slipping out from that shackle. That'd be terrifying.
