Ok so I did some more shopping for my recovery gear. Picked up some Quick Fist holders for my shovel that will go on the driver side of the bed. Ordered a replacement bulb for my vintage GE automotive spot light. Can't believe I found it on ebay.

Bought an Anvil 120v compressor and glow in the dark locking tire gauge inflator. US Cargo 3" 30' recovery strap along with a Curt D-Ring trailer hitch. I know it's made in China but Amazon sells these for 27.00 with the D-Ring and the hitch is made from solid steel I'll give it a try. Just like my shovel from Home Depot made in China now if the shovel fails which it shouldn't I will avoid PRC indefinitely if possible...

Some things made here in the US are just to damn expensive. So I research what I can and just go with my gut feeling. I try to avoid PRC products whenever possible but sometimes you have no choice in certain matters. So I have four things made in the PRC compressor, tire gauge inflator, hitch, d-ring and the shovel.

I also carry fire extinguisher for automotive fires, full tool kit, first aid pack and MRE's in the glove box. Survival kit, Zojirushi stainless thermos for water. Led 5 cell Maglite, toilet paper, lighter fluid, hammer, pipe saw, Taurus ported 6 shot 357 Magnum.

Although I like the idea of 120 volt outlet inside the cabin I actually have no use for it inside. Most of my runs are solo with my dirt bike so if I do get seriously stuck somewhere I won't be stranded.

It really is nice to climb your own mountain top, pitch camp and not having to worry so much about the stuff in my truck getting ripped off when I go on rides. It's been way to long since I had a 4x4 glad I got the 2019 they really did tune the motor and tranny.

Completely different beast compared to my 19' SR5. It drives and shifts the way a truck should drive. And I also don't have the brake shutter or vibrations on the steering wheel. The truck is quite and smooth when braking and no more 1st gear clunk. So far everything is tighter than a frogs ass with 12 hundred or so miles no leaks seeps or howling rear ends. Toyota definitely did something to these trucks for 2019 mine was built 1/19 Mexico no recalls.

Compressor pulls 2 amps that should be 250 watts so the stock inverter should have no probs.

Oh 4 days after I bought the thing getting on the freeway bam! 10 minutes before the rock the passenger door lower pillar paint chipped and dented when the nozzle shot off my pressure washer. Oh well shit happens.:notsure:

Sorry for the long ass post but I'm just having so much fun with this truck, especially when you put it in fun mode! Let me know if you think I forgot something cheers!

I would put money on the compressor not working. In the specs is only pulls 2 amps, but on start up they can pull 3 amps or more.

It’s easy to keep it spinning, it take a lot more effort to get them to start spinning.
Therefore you wound be better of with a 12v compressor that can clip to the battery. While most don’t have an air tank, it’s not needed.

Well... if the fuse blows then I'll know LoL!
Nothing like compressed air after a ride or attaching it to your water source.

You really should just get a 12v compressor. You waste a lot of energy converting form 12v (truck source) to 120v. Way smaller, lighter, and more efficient. That tank won't be any use for inflating tires (you might get a few psi in a motorcycle tire out of it). What is that, like a gallon tank? I have a 5 gallon tank and it will barely inflate ONE of my 32" tires from 18 to 30psi.

Get one that connects direct to the battery, too. Then you don't have to worry about overloading a circuit.

    Good one:

Are you talking about the 88P and the 400P?

If you have stock size tires, the 88P is fine. Anything larger and I'd go ahead with the 400P. The 88P will "technically" fill a 33" tire, but it will have to work a lot harder to do it, and take longer, and get hotter.

Search around for better deals, I think I paid $150 for my 400P.

Not sure if you want to do this mod but basically turning your ac compressor into an air pump . With the addition of a 5 gal air tank you'll have the ability to run air tools and have 110 psi air pressure

Sounds like sound advice. I will return this thing, and go with your rec of the 88P.

Yeah, that's what I have. Great pump. It easily fills my 5 gallon 125psi tank, too.

Soo... went to the Depot and grabbed some flat bar and went to town on my shovel mount. Since I had a shit load of the OEM cleats I used the OEM T- Bolt spring with knob. It seems pretty solid but until I hit the dirt rocky road time will be the true test.

Do you have a sat based communicator? Of youre on a dort bike alone, its not optional.

Back in the fall i broke my tibia pretty bad (amazing my fibula aurvived, just displaced a bit.) I had cell service, and a friend with me, and it took 5 hours until i was in a hospital. Had i been alone, and had no cell service, i may have laid there for a full day or more before someone stumbled upon me.

There are some nice, affordable compressors with 24 and 40 Volt li-po batteries, they out perform the 12v units by far. Then you have a good reason for a small pure sine wave inverter (under $60) to run the chargers. I've gone to 24v impact gun, compressor, and chain saw.

Do you have a link for the 40v ones you mention? The ones I've seen are like those Ryobi ones or the cheap ones that look like cordless drills, but I can't seem to find any specs on their CFM or duty cycle. These are the specs that are important when it comes to filling a truck tire.

A quick trip to Amazon and I see the 40V is no longer listed and the 24V version has doubled in price. I have a Greenworks 24V that is rated .7cfm@90psi, I paid under $100 but it's more than double that now, not sure if I would still recommend. It works great, light, easy to move to each tire and fills a 265/65/17 from 18 to 32 in a few minutes, the battery would fill several sets of tires. I already had a Greenworks 1/2 24v impact gun and drill so I had batteries and chargers.

Yeah, not sure that would pencil out for me, especially with the higher price. Cordless is a nice idea, I just prefer to not have to lug around all the extra stuff like batteries, chargers, and the inverter. At least for off-road use, the 1/2 gal tank is pretty superfluous, too unless you run an nail gun, lol.

For the price of that Greenworks, just get the 400P. 150psi max, 1.9cfm @30psi (1.3 @90psi). No batteries, chargers or inverter needed.

When I picked mine up it was $70 with out batt's and charger. I already had 4 batts and 2 chargers from the other tools so it worked in my case. Price jump to $210+ is outrageous. Battery life is a lot better than I expected, I like the portability, your right about the extra gear you need to carry for long term trips.
