Schijff749's '15 Build (and random truck photos)

Figured why not make a thread for my build while procrastinating on work/ studying.

Have grown up with Tacomas, Dad had a 2002 DCSB Gold (he claims it is champagne or some shit NOT gold) PreRunner. Brother has a Barcelona red 2010 MT SR5 DCSB. I got mine in June 2015. Dad totaled his '02 in Feb of '15, replaced it in November of '15 with a quicksand TRD offroad.

Its a 2015 Super-white DCSB MT SR5. Got it new with 95 miles on it in June 2015. Here's pick up day (literally rode my bike to the dealership to go pick it up)



Pretty much the next weekend took it off roading with my brother and his '10 in New Hampshire:

First things to go on the truck was a weather tech bug deflector, derped the disgusting chrome on the grill, TRD shift knob, all-weather mats, and a bed mat, running boards, and bought a ripped tonneau for $25 on craigslist:


Then in August had a terrible time...Got golf-ball sized hail storm in Boston causing $6000 of damage through the whole truck. And then a week later got rear-ended by an asshat uber driver checking his phone while sitting stopped in traffic on the Charlesgate bridge in Boston. 2 months after buying the truck.. par for the course right? Luckily not a ton of damage other than a small dent in the tailgate and a bent bumper/trailer hitch.


Took the accident/ his insurance money as a chance to get a steel bumper and went with the ATO offroad bumper with cutouts for lights, and also some TOYOTA lettering baja style
Around this time also did a swap with @Cativelense for the clock below the center unit. (not pictured)

Since I bought the truck through the Costco program, got a nice 50% off coupon for the dealership on parts and got the OEM roof rack. Same time got a Leer topper (XR I think) with sliding window(driver side), and windoor (passenger side):


Next, thanks to my brother @hpvds putting on some new wheels (and his wife telling him to get rid of the old ones in the garage) put some FJ trailteam wheels and shortly after derped them black: (also nice photo of his taco here)



Put on a pop & lock for the tailgate after brother's truck got broken into through the back and said no thanks, not happening to me.

Finally put in Rigid LED lights in the cut-outs of my rear bumper, have a switch next to the FOG light switch: (LOVE my fuck-you lights) I'll add a photo later

Made sure to put on some Cooper AT3's before I left to go up to bumfuck maine (Presque Isle) in May/June 2017 for 8 weeks for a clinical for school and nothing else to do on weekends so of course went riding through the lumber routes. aaaaaand obviously got stuck for a bit. After a quick freakout cuz i barely had cell service, no winch, no high lift I got out. Had to use my bed mat and wedge it under the wheel to get out. . oops




One of the multiple times I have moved over the years since having the truck:


Kinda just did nothing for a while due to being poor and in grad school/ on clinicals and not making money/ moving to Indiana for a couple months to work with the Pacers.

Got back to MA last May, re-did the derped wheels, and tinted the front windows to 40%.



Dad/brother helped me get a Pioneer head unit with wired carplay to replace the shitty entune system. Can post specifics if wanted:
