07 Nav systems?????

Does any know what, if any toyotas that have the same dash or radio area as a 07 tacoma but has a factory optional nav system. Im looking to up grade but i want the factory look aftermarket kits dont keep the same look or pattern please any suggestions..707 Taco

 

There are aftermarket dash kit's that have the same design as the factory ones. Since there's no screen or anything for a NAV system the head unit design is pretty unique, your best bet would be to buy an aftermarket dash kit and just get an aftermarket head unit that comes with NAV and whatever else you want.

 

Unfortunately, the only "Toyota" head units that will fit in the Tacoma are the one from the Solara and the Tundra, but you have to "make" a mounting kit to install them. They do not come ready to mount in a Tacoma.

I am looking at putting a Solara Nav system in my wife's 06 RAV4. The total cost after everything is $3000!!!

I think I will just get her a Garmin so that we can move it from vehicle to vehicle.

Seriously, for US applications the Ique series of GPS units is as good as it gets for price vs features. for about $510 plus tax, give or take you have a spectacular GPS system with solid state memory for probably the entire US and Canada. (guessing that 4 gigs would cover that, I have a 512meg card and it is the entire eastern US from the Atlantic to the western edge of Pennsylvania)

I have navigated with a Garmin Ique 3600 since early 2004, I have never looked at mapquest or been screwed by their faulty directions since, and I love never having to ask for directions. Want more info or photos just ask.

 

cool. I just ordered a Garmin 60csx yesterday. I cant wait to get it.

The in dash units are really cool. That's what I wanted but can't afford it.
The Garmin Nuvi 350 looks pretty good and at a reasonable price, compared to the in dash units. Plus you can update it from your p.c. and with an ipod interface you can use it as an mp3 player, with an sd card, and it pauses and mutes the music when verbal directions are given, then resumes when verbal commands cease. I've seen them for as low as 339.00

 

I think the Scosche dash kit is pretty nice. Most people think it's factory.

Don't know if anyone has found this site in the past, but it carries factory NAV units for about $1500. No list of Tacoma but has the Solara unit.

How's the glare on that, there are plenty of times when I can't even read the stock stereo when wearing my sunglasses (yes polarized but not willing to sacrifice my eyes to see the stereo)

 

yeh i had the same problem w the stock one but the new eclipse +nav screen adjusts to a few differnt angles so its cool for the most part im polerized too707taco
