I just loosened the strings up until they were noodles and pulled the pickup out from underneath. Same for installing the new one. I do all my own work except frets. That's a job for the pros!

Found a pic of mine. Made in the now-defunct New Hartford, CT factory in 2006.

Thanks for the birthday wishes! I've been off for a few days out fishing. Back to gear acquisition syndrome. I have an audition for a spectacular cover band next week and I need a reverb pedal for some tonal variety. Grabbing an MXR and a Boss SD-1 since my Ibanez TS-9 is boring me lately.

I love the TC Hall of fame 2 reverb. The shimmer setting is pretty freaking cool.

I got the MXR M300 Reverb. So many options. I'm still playing with it to get the setup I want. It has 6 different reverb settings!

Here's my Hahn Model C that I usually run through my helix. Nicest instrument I've ever owned.

Wow, I just googled the Model C, as I’d never heard of it. That sounds like an amazing guitar, indeed. Limited build, stellar specs, a very special guitar. We’re gonna need more pics to drool over. Oh boy, if I start gassing for that, my wife will hunt you down- LOL

I couldn't help myself when I saw this Les Paul. Been wanting another one for a while now. This is a 2019 Standard '60s. It doesn't have the fancy electronic switchwork of the regular Standard and its supposed to have a lower grade maple top (AA vs. AAA). This particular one has a top that was under-rated during sorting and looks to be AAA quality. Best looking one out there anywhere I could find. Should have it in my hands Monday!

Ooooh, yeah! Nice looking burst. Buying from Sweetwater is the best, because you can pick your guitar from a selection. Congrats!

Any of you actively working on learning any new songs? For the last 8 years or so I put learning songs off to the side to work on noodling and coming up with my own riffs, but recently found my old notebook from highschool where I wrote all the chords to songs I was working on back in the day. Pretty neat to see the songs that gave me the most trouble that long ago are second nature these days.

Was big into learning the Tenacious D album when it was released. Pages on pages of chords and the best way to play them.

I got hooked by the quirkiness of this Danelectro and my wife finally said "just buy the thing so you'll shut up about it."

Seafoam green '59 NOS+. The feel and the sound are just perfect. It's WAY more guitar than the price would suggest.

    IMG_20190404_115234778.jpg

Seriously, try one if you get the chance and you'll likely be a buyer. Pressboard never sounded so good :)

Thank you! My wife mocked me a bit for it matching the surfboard. I embraced it and learned a couple of songs by The Ventures just because :p

The more I listen to Jack White the more I respect his approach. Not the greatest player but he is a great artist.

Musically I'd say his best album is The Raconteurs' Consolers of the Lonely, but it's not his most creative. His style has been all over the map, which I don't think is a bad thing. Much like David Bowie, there's going to be something for everyone over the course of his career but nobody is going to like everything he puts out.

All that said, I find him easier to listen to than to watch. I can never get "Jack White looks like Michael Cera dressed up as Johnny Depp for Halloween" out of my head.

    I mean, seriously.

Hahaha! Saw him live in Chicago on the Blunderbuss tour. He leaves it all out on the stage. But, I always think “Edward Scissorhands” lol
