What kind of tow mirrors have you guys done for your 2nd gen? I got a 3k lbs camper that she pulls fine, but I can't see around the thing for shit with the stock mirrors.

I didn't see too many options online that appealed to me. So, I'm curious what you all have done.

Some I see are heated. If anyone has done that, how did you wire up and set up that switch?

Anyone find any that are to body color? My stock mirrors are red with the signal. I'd like to try to get them in red or have them painted if that come primed.

    Show me what you got!

    Thanks

The only tow mirrors I have seen available are the trail ridge flip up mirrors at 1aauto.com. Ive been looking at those for my 3rd gen, some people here swear by them, some people had issues with them -rattling, weird viewing angle, etc. The big downside is that they only come in black or chrome, but I bet you could take them to a body shop if you wanted it color matched. The other option are those cheap strap-on mirrors, which are complete crap.

The heated ones are for the trucks that already have that option. I'm sure it could be wired up if you really want one, but thats a lot of work for a feature not used very often, in my opinion.

After much research, I think Im going a different route, Im currently researching a wireless rearview camera. Those are slightly less expensive, and my truck doesnt look like Cornholio on wheels. :anonymous:

I've run the Trail Ridge mirrors for just under a year, and I have no complaints. I've never encountered any rattling and as far as I can tell the viewing angles are spot on for daily driving. When towing, they require some adjustment when flipped out, but those blind spot mirrors are great. Obviously they stick out a ton, but they haven't posed a problem on the trail. I didn't opt for the heated option because, well, Southern California!

I am looking for feed back on these also? Does a Tundra style really exist? I like my ProEFX ones but honestly I wish they stuck out another inch maybe when folded out. And the glass shook quite a bit. Also would love the larger panoramic section across the bottom instead of just in a corner. So any feedback would be awesome!

Hopefully someone bit the bullet and bought them; please report back!

I'm going to do some research today and worst case, I'll get them (Amazon, easier return policy) and go from there.

The Tundra like ones do not work. If you read the reviews someone has bought them and they don't work. Sorry I should have updated this last week when I noticed the plug is not for the tacoma. I got the old stand by dodge style again. Sucks cause I wanted them to work so bad.

Not sure if he is still on here or not but ProEFX mirrors are great. I have had mine for years. They were the original guys to manufacture the dodge style mirrors plug and play for the Tacoma. Prior to that guys were actually modifying dodge mirrors and drilling holes in their doors.

I use these, they are removable and work great. At 85 mph, they didn't fly off. Real solid product.

I just use the McKesh mirrors with no problems. Got them adjusted for my use and take them on and off as needed. And no the straps have not scratched my paint anywhere.

Just installed the A1 auto tow mirrors and I’m not super pleased. Heard great things about them which influenced my purchase but my passenger side has some distortion that almost makes it look like you’re looking through glasses with the wrong prescription. Secondly they vibrate at random speed/rpm which drives me batty. Just installed some weather stripping near the mounting bolts to try and alleviate it some…we’ll see

Don't remember, but got them from Amazon. They have a rubber pad so not to scratch the paint and there quick release ratchet strap is top quality. I have been using them for several years now.
