    Stock again- rip slug
New here, but finally got some 235s on the ol girl before going camping last weekend. I must say, it is night and day with how much more appropriate this vehicle handles anything you throw at it now. I could not stand the old 205 bicycle tiresa! Any wind, potholes, etc. And I'd be fighting the steering wheel after. For anyone with a stock 5 lug, and does anything other than street only driving; make the jump if you considered it!IMG_20190427_064410.jpg MVIMG_20190425_164213.jpg

Still a work in progress but slowly rebuilding her.

Originally bought the truck in 2006 with my brother after my grandfather passed away and had enough inheritance money cover the cost for a base model Tacoma. Throughout the years, we've split ownership of the truck, usually based on our commutes as our other vehicle was a Honda Civic. For a few years my brother was in primary possession of the truck and allowed it fall into a state of disarray. Eventually bought the truck from him (he needed money for grad school) and here is the list of damages and issues I've been slowly working through -

    Right side bed crushed in
    Access cab partially crushed
Roof paint destroyed (common issue but he was parking it under a sap tree so even worse)
    Was rear ended
Hit a shopping car at 50mph, front end messed up

Along with those issues, there were other issues that come along with having a vehicle that is aging and secondary issues from those accidents. I use to have a before picture but can't seem to find it right now.

This truck is special to me and while the easiest thing to do would have been to sell it for scrap, I had a hard time letting go. I had it with me during my senior year in high school, all through college and most of my 20's. Growing up my dad always had Toyotas and he had a blue Toyota Pickup. I remember sitting in his lap and him letting me "drive" when I was 5 years old. I've got a son on the way and want to have those same experiences with him.

Here are a few things I've done to restore the truck -

Replaced right side bed and access cab door (Craigslist ftw)
Repaired the rust spots on the roof
Undercoated truck as a precaution (live in the South, not a huge worry)
    Water Bypass Valve Pipe
    New silicon lines
    New throttle body/MAF/intake gaskets
    Secondary Air Pump Mod

    ReadyLift 69-5510 Lift Kit
Pro Comp Steel Wheels Series 51 Wheel with Gloss Black Finish (15x8"/5x4.5")
    Dynapro ATM RF10 30/9.50/R15 104R C1 OWL
    VIPMotoZ 2005-2011 Toyota Tacoma Headlights
SCOSCHE TA2053BKB 2005-11 Toyota Tacoma Single DIN Dash Kit
Black Sport VIP Mesh Front Hood Grill 2005-2011
    eBay Fender Flares
    Air Intake Modification

    Future modifications -
Turbo (still weighing my options between that or a 1GR-FE swap)
16x8 Method NV 305 Matte Black
    Yellow Fog Lights
    Fox Shocks
    Re-gearing
Respray (Unfortunately clearcoat is ultimately done)

eBay fender flares. Decided to actually bolt these to the body for better fitment.
