I originally bought another winch from 4wp at the swap meet last year to install in my rear bumper. It is built yo accept one. But after looking at the price of wire to run all the way back there I said f it.

Dude, come down to the thing at griots. Stop here for breakfast first. I've got a bedrack that I built last weekend on a truck that's in the show.

Meh I suppose. I'm supposed to tear useful parts off my old motor today, replace a ujoint and clean up some wiring they didn't button up from the frame swap. Should probably get my wheels balanced and rotated too.

yep and the most popular/easiest are Honda civic and accord. So I wonder if Jeeps are as easy to steal as those.

I'd think they have modern day theft deterrent systems like rolling code or chipped key ignition. Especially on the higher end models. Base models not so much probably.

I've got half a dozen or so keys from my previous Toyota mini trucks that will just about start any Toyota from 79-89 no hot wiring needed. Just the ole jiggle key.

Lower bearings were definitely seized onto the bolts. 926469DC-0028-4D08-9835-BBCB2A6C33A4.jpg5B6A5C67-5861-407D-B039-D3E2F28C156F.jpg

The early 90s honda are easy to steal because shaved/jiggle keys work easily and there are still so many on the road.

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
Built a thing outta scrap to (safely) secure the BP51s to adjust the preload easier.
    :welder:

It'll work in a vise, too. It just happened to be a perfect length and size for the hitch mount, so I figured why not. Made the job way easier. 1.5 hours to do both sides, start to finish.

I adjusted to 17mm Driver / 12 mm passenger. We'll see how it goes for a few days.

This guy, or whatever flavor like it. I got one on a warehouse deal for $76, and it came with the little plastic protector things (which are kinda useless). It is such a tight squeeze getting the cups between the coils that you'll probably end up with some scratches on 'em anyway.

@velillen if you get deeper with your vibration issue and it turns out to be the flex plate, let me know. I have 2 laying around.

I tore down my old engine yesterday so I've got a shit load of random length and size nuts and bolts off the engine along with coolant hoses and misc pieces. One interesting thing I found was an internal screen behind a bolt located towards the front of each head about 2 inches below the valve cover. I'd never heard anyone mention it before.

Cracked the #1 piston. Pistons 1 and 2 where just floating in the cylinders.

Those screens are filters for the oil control valves. They control the vvti functions

That's what I assumed since the passage they sit in leads towards the vvti solenoid and chain tensioner.
