    Curious as to how your FIL got across the Port Mansfield and Port Isabel cut's. They are shipping channels so I know he didn't drive across and the only way on and off PINS is thru Corpus.

    The cut was made in 1957, and the jetties that were set were inferior, and soon after it started to close back up. It was re-cut in 1962 by Army engineers, and new jetties set as seen today.
