I'm excited that 16x7 or 8 Desmond Regamasters are next on the reissue list. I'm not quite ready money wise, but a set of white ones on my white teg....hmm.

Oh my god...never EVER again will i attempt to fix a vehicle with a wiring harness issue. I'll just set it on fire and send it down the road. After a lot of wrestling, the old harness is out.

I can't get over how freaking long this harness is.

Now i get to run the new to me harness everywhere, and attempt to put everything back in where it came from. before i put the dash back on, i'll definitely be doing a test fire to make sure everything still works. And i found my issue in the harness, i never would have found it without removing everything so this task was not for nothing.

This is the wires to the downstream oxygen sensor, notice how crispy these look? something was shorting out somewhere, causing my car to run in open loop all the time.

    [IMG][/url]

I also found out why my cruise control stopped working randomly about 10 years ago - I bet that black wire is supposed to be in that plug...

So i'm not sure if the hard part of this job is over, or if i'm just getting into it. Fingers crossed everything goes back exactly how it should and i have no bolts or pieces leftover lol.

i haven't updated this in forever, the car is still off the road, and is still giving me sh*t lol. Lots of things have happened, my original goal was to get the car completed painted before cooler weather hit so all i had to do this winter was re-assemble and work out the bugs and be good to go in the Spring. Well, the amount of rust i have encountered on the driver's side is going to throw a wrench in that. There is way more rust to repair on this side than there was on the passenger side. So, my new goal is to get the rust repaired before cooler weather hits, put the interior back together, work on eliminating the quirks out of the car, and then do body work and paint next year when the weather turns warm. Not the way i wanted to do it, but i dont really have a choice.

the harness is completely swapped, and i'm still having an issue not going into closed loop mode. super frustrating. the dash is back in, mostly everything is connected back up except for my gauges, alarm and some odds and ends. i'll just take my time and get it done right, i don't want to rush it at this point and do something stupid. some pictures from the last like 3 months that i have neglected to upload lol.

Annnnnnd my rust i did not expect, at least not to this extent.

And this little guy keeps me thoroughly busy/entertained. I promised him next year he can ride in the car again. Right now he points at the teg in the garage (currently flying on jackstands lol) and just yells "Car car!!!! Car car!!!!!"

Keep it up! I know it's tough to keep up motivation. I thought mine would be further along. I haven't investigated my drivetrain noise yet, but I just had to take her for a spin last Saturday night. Battery was dead, had to top off oil, but hearing VTEC was a nice motivator.

Damn. Brings back the good ol days.. here’s a few of my old sedan before I parted out ...brake line tuck, wire tuck, painted inside and out. Loved it but went overboard for not having a garage.. either had to partout or lose sleep every night thinking someone was trying to steal it

vtec is always a good motivator lol. i was so disappointed when i cut that exterior panel off and i saw the inside. Pretty sure my neighbors would have heard the cursing at that point lol.

Sometimes i wish i went with the jdm front, especially since i replaced the core support anyways. on the other hand, there are so few 94-97 fronts on the roads now. and is that a cement gray integra??

There's part of me that wishes I stuck with the US front. If I had a USDM Type R, I'd keep it original for sure. And same for my Integra, if it didn't have the numbers matching original engine, I'd probably K-swap it.

Still cranking away cutting out bad metal and putting together my game plan for the repair. Now that i dont have to worry about getting it painted before winter, i'm taking my time and not jumping to any bad choices. Finished another side project for the car, i followed a youtuber's process he used on leather seats. Check out sweetprojectcars if you havent, they have a lot of good stuff on there. So, here are my old man tan leather seats for the front of the car. i still have to do the rears. For the driver's side seat, i also swapped seat skins with a passenger side seat to avoid a bunch of repairs. Its not a 100% swap, but its pretty close.

I dont think i posted any pics of this other side project either. Finding the OEM wood grain insert for a manual transmission is really hard, and if you do find it, its like $100 +. So, i made my own using vinyl and the wife used her cricut to cut out the integra font. that was hard to find as well, i had to piece a couple of the letters together to make one letter in photoshop. Overall, for less than $5, i'm happy with it.

Just discovered the thread and have worked my way through it. Hard work you are doing there. Keep it up!

I wonder if you cleaned the drivers seat really well if you wouldn't find that the two seats were closer in color than you might think..... :notsure:

Worth a shot once you get everything else taken care of. I bought a brush set that you can use a with a cordless power drill that is amazing. Great for many household and vehicle jobs.

Search for cordless drill brush attachment set on Amazon and there are a bazillion. Here is one:

its the lighting that makes them look different. one was closer to my ceiling light than the other. they are the same color, i re-colored them using the same paint.

Glad to see there's another Honda guy here. What's your goal? OEM refresh build?

    I have a 00 EM1 as a little side/project car.

Well, the goal has shifted during the course of this project. I almost started back at this thing a bit ricer-ish, and realized i'm too old for that lol. So, my next phase was basically keep the car where i had it when i sold it and then add some updates here and there to make it a little more with current tech. Now, i think my goal is a combination of OEM and OEM plus. After the body work and paint (OEM cypress green pearl again), i plan on refinishing my wheels again for something a little more subtle. I also have a set of the OEM 96-97 GSR / special edition wheels i need to refinish. Need to finish my S2000 HID retrofit too. But, long story short, my end goal is an OEM plus setup with some ITR goodies. AND...if i can ever get to the deal quick enough....possibly a JRSC. Dont want to make stupid power, just add more funs and torque to the car.

I really need to update my build thread, ive been slacking on every forum lol. What do you have slated for the EM1? Still one of my favorite cars ever.

Same here, I'm too old to go back to overly stiff coilovers etc. Keeping cruise, AC, Power steering, all of it. I want to restore, upgrade with quality bolt ons (Mugen, Spoon, Toda, etc.)

I've been eyeballing the H&R coilovers. Non adjustable valving, but should still be a good street ride. Mugen or Spoon hardened rubber bushings, Type R sways. Already have Mugen strut bars.

I'll rebuild the engine to Type R specs, keep the GSR trans as it's already screaming down the highway. Maybe an LS 5th. (Still have numbers matching engine and trans)

i have a numbers matching transmission, but my numbers matching engine threw a rod through the side of the block about 3K miles after i bought the car. I wanna say it had like 67K on the entire car at that point. that was a fun day...

just saw this thread. back in 2000-2001 i had a 1992 gsr, the one with the 1.7L DOHC VTEC motor! B17A? man that was such a fun car! intake, exhaust, headers, ran a 15.1 1/4 mile at LACR in Palmdale, CA, which is a bad track, high altitude.
