Mat was right, 1.05.1 isnt a good choice if your truck runs fine with 1.05. Spent 5k on 1.05 base and decided to try 1.05.1 performance but its a no go, the truck is jumpy as hell in low rpm. Drove about 1k and gave up, loaded 1.05 gear lock. Will see about that crappy hill on my way to work tomorrow morning.

Isn't performance and gearlock the same tune? And gearlock is in S mode with etc on, and have to downshift to engage it. And at every stop have to do a down shift to engage from that stop again for it to actually be in effect. That is the way it seems to work for me.

My issue is that it does the same thing at 55mph.
With Performance it does kick in 6th and consume a lot less.

    At 68mph it's 17mpg

Also I understand 04B02 files are released for torque converter shutter, but we do also recommend anyone with torque converter shutter on 04B02, or 04B03 to update to 04B04, because that file was released by toyota specifically for that problem. If you still have the issue after updating to 04B04 (some trucks do) then use 1.05.1

It is ok to go back to 1.05 from 1.05.1 correct?

    @OVTune

Hey Mat, others may be interested to know as well.

Is there anything wrong with freshly flashing a tune and towing for the first 2-300 miles? Since the tune is settling during this time will it settle differently than if I wasn’t towing for the 2-300 miles?

Just curious because I did this and am now not towing, so will the truck drive properly now and recalibrate as I drive with no trailer?

I've done it multiple times and never had any issues with my truck.

Just before I flashed to 1.05.1, I started noticing difficulties to get out of 6th gear. Truck would hold it way longer and required more throttle inputs, just like stock calibration. I was on that version for about 5K miles as well
Did not see anything weird with RPM , etc.

Reflash or remove negative battery terminal for about ten mins. Works for me

After running 1.04 on 04B03 I updated to 04B04 and then the original 1.05 87 base. After about 1000 miles I began to notice a stall / dead pedal feel. I updated to 1.05.1 87 base and the stall / dead pedal is gone. Shifts so much better! Never thought the dead pedal /stall issue was torque converter? Must have been. Thanks for the work and the ability to clear trans and learning. Looking forward to the 1.05.1 87 base + gear lock!

    If I've never used @OVTune , should I start with 1.05 or 1.05.1? I'll probably try 93 performance first.

Yup, its the learning. I flash it back to stock a couple days before I take it to get serviced at the dealership, then I flash back to whatever. Im also going to try disconnecting the battery.

Question to you, or anyone else, when I disconnect the battery all I need to do is disconnect the negative right? Or both? Please help.

Also, is that Borls 40665 Turbo XL center/offset worth it?

Disconnecting the battery does absolutely nothing. Proven many times

    Thank you.

I saw that as well... but since I wouldn't be "updating" to 1.05.1 (since I've never tuned). I wasn't sure it applied.
    Thank you.
