I would like to take the time to report that my OEM Audio Plus system is sounding better than ever. I have had my system for almost a year.

Thanks all for your feedback. I’m looking to get the Reference 500q. Does it only come with a single sub?

Edit: Thanks to Daniel, he pointed me in the right direction. There's the option to add a sub amp and 2nd sub enclosure in the configuration page after you add a system to your cart.

Do you have the 500 or 450? Curious because I see both mentioned on the forums.

Which option are you considering or did you go with? Is the "configuration page" different then the page with all the product photography (I'm looking at the double cab system)

Received the 500q (single sub) for my 2017 Tacoma last night and already have it installed. I'll write a review after I get to experience it more, but wanted to give a shout out to Daniel for his excellent customer service. I ordered the system on Friday afternoon and he made sure it shipped that same day, allowing for it to arrive yesterday and giving me time to install it before having to go back to work. Install wasn't hard although the video is a little out of date, but no complaints on my end. The hardest part of the installation was getting some of the clips to release - everything else was smooth and worked as advertised. I value customer service and Daniel's was the best I have experienced in a long time. Highly recommend simply based on that principle alone.

I’m really leaning towards this system for my 2017...single sub as well. I’d like to read your review and find out more on what’s out of date in their video.

It wasn't a big deal since the installation PDF on the website was current and showed the new wiring harness and how it went together (different than the video). Same basic procedure. Both can be found at this link under Tacoma (Dbl Cab):

Wondering if there's anyone in SW Missouri who has the Oem Audio+ system they'd audition for me. Long shot but would really like to hear this before pulling the trigger. The stock unit is tolerable but barely.

I know the bass isn't something to bump in a parking lot I keep reading, but compared to stock how is it?

Compared to stock it's much cleaner and smooth. You hear the bass more than feeling a thump if that makes sense. You will notice an overall clean acoustics rather than the muffling you get from stock in any volume level. In regards to loudness, I believe it's the same as stock. Level 10 on stock is the same as level 10 on the Audio plus system. Same goes for level 40. I keep mine on level 20 while driving with the windows closed in the city, 30 while driving on the freeway, and 40 with the windows down while driving on the freeway. This was the same when I had the stock system setup but now I actually enjoy listening to it.

Close friend just placed his order for the double cab complete System with dual subs after hearing it in person. I am going to be in California early in June and am hoping the timing works out to assist with his installation and hear it. Based on our conversation, I am stoked. If I get the chance, I am hoping to take pictures of the installation that I will subsequently post. Haven't really seen the duals sub install on the forums (if I am missing it, please provide a link!)

I installed the complete kit (single woofer) when I added the NOICO sound deadener and insulation. Prior to installing I regularly drove with the volume in the mid 20s in stop and go and high 20s to low 30s on the highways. In the PNW the highways can get loud at times...plus tinnitus. Afterwards, I tend to keep the volume at around 9-11 in the city and 17-22 on the highways.

I was a little skeptical when I saw the speakers...i’m used to big magnets = good speakers, but I admit the system overall is really well balanced and sounds great.

You'll have to find the holding tab that stops the pin from backing out to release it. Sometimes you can get to it from the front, sometimes from the rear. Find the smallest screwdriver, or probe you can and once you find the "catch" the pin will pull out.

Like @dolbytone mentioned you'll want to find the pin release. Sometimes multi-pin connectors also have a main release for the terminals (not sure if this has one or not from the photo). Contact company?

I'm looking into getting this system. The only issue is my son's car seat is on the driver's side and I'd prefer to not move it to the passenger side. Will the sub enclosure interfere with the tether anchor behind the seat? From the install video it looks like it fits over the anchor but I can't tell if it'd keep me from hooking the tether clip. Has anyone successfully install the sub and used the anchor point at the same time? Thanks!

I had a buddy that was inquiring about the same. The company apparently made this provision in the design of the sub to ensure that this anchor point was maintained. I am confident I have seen a few pictures with people that had this setup with Child Seats in place. I would also wonder if they would sell the system with the passenger side sub instead of the driver side sub?

For closure, I contacted OEM directly (derp...what a novel idea...) and Daniel confirmed that the sub enclosure was designed specifically to maintain access to the anchor.

Is there any word on when this system will be available for the JBL equipped models? Also as someone who regularly has the volume knob maxed does the system add volume I have seen some conflicting reports about the system adding volume. I am in the elementary phases of researching audio upgrades for the truck. I know now that I kind of screwed myself with the JBL system but alas I needed the dual zone climate controls.
