True, but it really wasn't that long ago lol

I am pretty bullish on the market in general, but for some reason I don't see Tesla existing as a company in a few years. Something about Elon, I don't know what it is, but I like watching the show.

Today Morgan Stanley put out a "bear case" scenario for Tesla, and it's $10 a share!

their price target was still 230 or so, if it drops to 10 i'll be pissed since I bought in when I though was really low.

Yea it wasn't a bold call, but I still couldn't believe they put it at $10 in one scenario. That would probably take bankruptcy or something extreme.

Sometimes buying the dip is good, sometimes not so much. I keep hearing bad things about GE so I don’t know, risky, but could easily double or more. Not my style but might be a good risk to take.

I mean, I'm just looking at the buy low/sell high approach. Seeing as how they've been around for over a century, somehow I think buying at these near all-time lows might not be a bad idea for a long term play. Hearing bad things means good buying opportunity to me. Apparently the new CEO is cleaning things up.

I agree, in 10 or 20 years it could be 10x+ what it is now. I’d just dig around hard to make sure there’s no risk of going to 0.

If they paid a 3% dividend I’d probably get in and just hold for a long time. It’s too bad they don’t, it’s a long running business that I don’t see going away.

I'm sure if they fix a lot of their issues, they'll bring it back. Might be a few years though.

How long you guys holding if your buying stock just for the gain. In my play account it seems a 2 months is the longest I have gone. Target was kind to me again today. Had good luck with buying the dip and selling on the bounce- $5 dollars here $5 there.

How long do I hold just for the gain...? I don't personally buy stock for long term holds that I don't anticipate will grow into the future. My long term positions are just that... Long term. On my fast money moves I have 2 stances: Ideally a few days on stock flips and approx 1 month on covered options plays.

Generally depends on what you think the stock is gonna do and risk management (your investing style as well). And typically evolving/adapting that estimation as you go based on news, performance, etc.. Thats kinda why you'll see a lot of people here talk about breaking their money down to categories like long term/short term buys, High risk/low risk buys. Not really a good rule or timeline for timing the market

Sometimes its good to check their balance sheet and look at cash. Cash is always KING! then i would look at their income statement and just check out their operating income....i wouldn't have any issues buying on a dip if i knew the company was ok with cash and they are having no issues at the operational level. I haven't looked into GE but if you decide to...please share the wealth.

It’s really hard to time short-term in my opinion. Example, AAPL went up to around $214 at the beginning of May from good earnings and guidance. Looking good right.. Now it’s back at $182. I think it’s mostly luck when you flip stocks quickly, and has a lot to do with the general market direction at the time.
