Thanks man. I think it was too, seeing as how it brought it down to the VR price. However, I could have gotten the VR for maybe 550ish with my cabelas points etc. I'm just hoping I don't have pound, smash, cut and grind to get it into a ARB lol.

The ARB is pretty roomy shouldn’t be an issue mounting it, I’d be concerned with mounting the bumper it’s a heavy SOB.

 

Doing good man. Just been busy at home. I've just been busy keeping up with my 5 vehicles. Just doing the regular servicing can keep you busy enough with that many. But my oldest drives the 97 Z71 and with it's age a few things started going out at the same time. So, after chasing them all down, I finally got them all fixed. Plus I spent some time doing a lot of preventative stuff on the Montero since it was used and I didn't know what all had been done to it etc. With daughters and a wife, I take the extra time and effort to keep them from being broke down on the road. Especially since my oldest was going to school in Kerrville and making that drive several times a week. So, time and money .. and more of the same. Now I'm able to kind of sit back and see about getting some things done on the Tacoma and the scout trailer. I can't go too crazy, but I have a little mad money to spend. ha ha. I have most of July off, so the wife and I are hoping to get deep into the mountains, maybe even visit a friend up in Idaho.. but we'll see where the roads and trails take us.

No doubt. My nieces hubby just mounted one on her 13 tacoma. No winch yet though. I have the lift to cover any squat, but I do plan to revise my front end after it's on. I wanted to wait and see where it takes it down to. Hoping to lose some of my spacer height and replace it with 2.5 coils. Which I planned to do .. but thought I better get an idea of what a guard and winch will do first so I can adjust accordingly. Like anything, it's a work in progress. On my nieces, I think she has around 2" and it didn't seem like it dropped much, from what I could see. But I don't drive it all the time etc, so I don't know for sure.

 

I think all the branches will reenlist anybody as long as you've done basic training already

 

Thank you, I try to be. Can't be too careful with any loved ones, but I damn sure don't want my daughters or wife broke down out in this so called civilized world we live in these days. Granted they are all packing fire power, but I'd rather have them telling me about their day, and it didn't involve a gunfight .. lol.

Not so much. If you've done Marine Corps recruit training you are exempt. Any other branch coming to the Corps has to go through the indoctrination process.

I've been trying to get into the Army as a pilot now for a few years. They don't like Marines apparently. I've been getting blown off no matter the persistence.

 

At the beginning of the war, either this one or Desert Storm, they were offering retirees enlistment as SMEs (subject matter experts) in critical fields to enhance wartime readiness.

Be warned, the VR series winches will not work in an ARB without a remote control box, which is currently unavailable for the VR series. You need to look at other bumpers (this happened to me when I ordered a VR12-S for my ARB). Otherwise, heck of a deal!

 

Plus Helo school is way backed up. I told you about my buddy in the nasty girl aviation unit at Jambo, right?
