Can't the megasquirt just be run in parallel with the factory ecu? Just control fuel and timing with the MS. This was my plan at least unless I'm missing something. Not entirely sure how it would all work out but I planned on going with the diy kit.

 

The kit I was looking at. No. It's a full stand alone that plugs into the wiring harness direct.

I'm not sure mega squirt has a piggy back.

If you're going the piggy back route just get an arm fic6

no. Just the main 6. Why are you runnign aux injectors? you don't need to do that shit.

Knock im not super sure of. I think if you do a GM sensor swap and have good wire run to the stock one it's fine.

 

Google gave me a couple of routes. One going north from Troy and one going eastish off of 95 north of Moscow. Ever do any camping in either of those areas?

I'm not yet but from my understanding bigger injectors have idle issues. I'd just like to have something that has more options for if I ever do try and squeeze 300-400 hp out of the 3rz.

Stock knock should be fine but I wouldn't mind having a second giving feedback.

DIY MS is around $500 I believe. I don't think that's terrible when it could be a full standalone.

 

A MS is a full stand alone. But as Zane was mentioning its a bit restricted. You can add modules to it though. Be fine I think for most things though.

The AEM FIC6 will do pulse width on the injectors so you won't have idle issues.

If you're gonna DIY it then yes you can do that, it can be a bit tough to feed the ECU the signals it needs to not get pissy but it's possible. I wouldn't go with the MS box monte was looking at though for that

 

You could run 4 big injectors just fine, I've seen people trim 2200cc injectors and have it run great at idle, it's all about the quality of the tune, but there is a secondary injector rail option for the 3rz if you really want to worry about two stage injection and crossover points

 

I mountain biked up there a lot but never camped. Make sure to grab some loco grinds or bagel shop in town the other places arent worth much for foods.

The T/C that came with my diesel is a J shift with center locker. I would think you could get an AWD low, might have to do some wiring trickery if it has a sensor on it.

 

Should be able to I'd think. I wanna find one for the single cab some day I think. Be fun. Pretty low on the priority list though for me.

Just got back. Was nice. Mostly sunny, good views, good people.

It's still raining here though..insane how much it's rained in the last now 3 freaking weeks.
