Figured I could post this here. Not sure how many care but can't hurt.

I'm an audio engineer, I mix/master and produce music for various people. My full time gig involves all classical music, mainly chamber style groups. I do get to do the occasional other group though and am working on my own main setup to start freelancing more to get to do more variety.

That said, I'll likely post some of the projects I get to work on here. Be a lot of classical art films, but some other stuff too. Take a listen, lemme know what you thing. I can talk about it all day!

I'll post this one first. Its the newest film out from where I work at Tippet Rise Art Center in conjunction with Greg Anderson. Features Caroline Goulding on violin and Julien Brocal on piano.

what audio software do you use? I had looked into Pro tools awhile ago as an amateur editing/remastering project on my pancaked plate

is there a preferred software to use with the WIN10 OS?

I use a couple. Big pro tools user mainly.

But I also use a program called Pyramix but that's a full blown pro status DAW so I won't tempt you with that. It's very expensive but so awesome.

I use Protools Ultimate with HDX stuff which is their pro level software and hardware acceleration. Overkill for the beginner by a lot. Protools is a universal standard daw though so it would be a good choice to check out. However other days of course all do many things better or different. I'd give Reaper and Cubase a good look for Windows useage.

A lot of daws these days all have great features though. So really it'll just come down to what you get comfortable with.

This is one project that I have been waiting for for a while. I got to help record it as the assitant engineer. I went back to St Louis for it to be with my old boss who asked me to come back as it was a big deal due it it being David Robertson's last concert ever at the SLSO and it was Wynton. Jazz legend.

Wynton Marsali's Swing Symphony. So the whole St. Louis Symphony Orchestra plus the whole Jazz at Lincoln Center's Orchestra. 61 channels of audio. I was in charge of about 34ish microphones on the ground alone. Was lot! Super cool music and damn good musicians.

    Recorded live!

    Sort of.

I work full time at an arts center will a studio in it. I do freelance work though and often go to a local shop studio to record then mix at my studio or the one on work in on my own time. My full time gig is exactly open to the public to record in. But I do about 2-4 albums a year. I think starting this month I'll have 9 albums coming out in the next year I've worked on haha

This new album dropped today from John Luther Adams.

I got to play a very small role in this helping with mixing a little bit, not really doing anything, but helping facilitate it. I've gotten to know John over the last couple of years and his producer/engineer Nathaniel. Very cool people. As well as Dimitri the recording engineer who is also very good.

This is a composition that follows the grammy/pulitzer prize winning Become Ocean.

Was mixed in Atmos and 5.1 if you have that kind of system, its well worth hearing in surround as John is all about enveloping the listener.

Become River is next and I've had the pleasure of helping facilitate that one as well and it is also very good.

Here is a cool short film. This is Airblastr piloting his many drones. I recorded the music in 2017 during a live performance.
