    Hey,

Lately I'd been thinking of replacing my Tundra with a new truck. The Tundra had accumulated 86,000 miles of trouble free motoring and was still in decent shape. Being 11 yrs old the truck had acquired some minor imperfections over the course of it's life. Enough to make me entertain the idea of replacing it.

When it comes to trucks I'm pretty much set on the belief that Toyota offers the best option for longevity.

So it came down to a new Tundra or Tacoma; 4Runner was off the list because I still wanted a pickup in the driveway. Which leads me to May 17th, the day i traded in my 2008 Tundra DC for a manual 2019 TRD OR access cab.

Late on a Tuesday decided to test drive a TRD OR with a manual trans and figured it was what I wanted. Went back the next day and made the deal; only problem was I didn't want black. Of course the local dealer only had the one manual TRD access cab and it was black, so they'd need to bring in a cement colored truck. Put down a $5k deposit and nervously left the dealership after the sales manager kept asking what my backup color was in case they couldn't find one.

Got the phone call late the next day stating the truck would be in by Friday. Ordered 265/75r16 cooper ST/Maxx that evening :)

May 19th ..wow I had the truck for 2 days at that point. I decided what I was going to do for suspension. I'd run 6112/5160 on the Tundra for 4 yrs and had just put 6112/5100 on the kids 4Runner. Pretty easy to see where this is heading... I ordered 6112/5160 for the Tacoma.

I have a date booked for next week to have the 6112's assembled and installed. Ordered new KYB sm5640 top hats from Amazon so I can keep the original TRD pieces complete. Just need to finalize on 1.1 or .55 setting

Currently waiting on the following: adapter kit for my Baja Designs squadrons and the anytime camera kit. Have a TRD pro skid plate on order from the dealer

Anytime camera kit showed up tonight and managed to get the switch connected. Really slick kit and would highly recommend it.
Hopefully get the front camera mounted and plumbed in sometime tomorrow

6112’s went in today. Have them set at 4/3 and there is about a half inch of rake from back to front. Hopefully they may settle a touch.

Still waiting on the rear 5160’s to ship

Latest additions... TRD Pro skid plate and radio buttons. Added kicker tweeters and can’t say I noticed a huge change in sound quality

5160’s showed up last night. Gave up waiting for the left to show up so decided to run two rights. Ride is much better balanced vs the 6112 and the stock yellow bilsteins. Happy camper with the way the trucks turned out.

Lookin' good! I'm going to order this same setup soon. I'm curious about how you mounted the reservoirs for the 5160s. Commonly they're mounted to the body of the main shock, but it looks like you opted for mounting them on the frame — which I think looks better. What hardware did you need to achieve this? I'd appreciate any insight. Thanks!

On my Tundra the 5160’s were shock mounted but for the Tacoma Bilstien supplies frame mounted hardware kits instead.
