What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Only reason to be here is to say I am getting a speaker upgrade and insulation with Peel and Seal.
Discovered former owners had done some shit.

5’ of 4” abs.

I wanted as much capacity while still making it fit.

It needed to clear the rear awning and the access cab door fully opened. And I didn’t wanna add any more height to the truck by mounting it on top of the shell rack.





Roughly 3.5 gallons. It was enough water for 2 quick rinses last weekend camping.

 

Washed it today.

 

The one in my 09 does the same thing. If I give the dash a good thump it comes back on. I am installing my new JVC tomorrow but only a single DIN

 

I installed a JVC double din and it randomly turns ON when I start the truck with it turned off. Luckily it doesn't turn itself off though.

Adding fogs so I pulled the oem fake bezels to fill time waiting for a water heater to drain.

How did you add s front camera?
What hardware did you buy and how did you wire it? I appreciate details, part#’s, where to buy?

 

Thanks! Bilstein 5100’s all around with OME 884’s and Progressive 3-leaf AAL. Got about 2.5” of lift which was about as high as I could go with stock UCAs. Contact @HeadStrong Off-Road if you’re interested and they’ll set you up.

 

Wow low mileage for an 08!! I estimate I’ll hit 200k in late August

 

Just ordered the sway bar bracket from wheelers.

 

Any plans on making those in the future?

 

Round two is coming and may be the last chance to get these cam gears!

Back of the panel getting ready to see how I can route the USB/AUX cable.
I scratched the clear piece of the cluster when screwing the cluster in and I also trimmed the panel in the picture incorrectly (USB/AUX isn't how I wanted it) so I'll be ordering both today with maybe some black interior pieces from this thread:

Washed and waxed mine yesterday as well... Needs a clay bar and probably some actual paint correction, but it’s already entirely too hot for all that this summer!
