Thanks for the site. Doing this in the truck will be fun. I wish I could find the male end somwhere to fix it to my cable then just plug it in. I have not looked at the set up yet so maybe the cable unplugs somewhere to alow me to bring it into the house for repair. Its pretty cold outside and we are going to get 7 or more inches of snow tomorrow. Thanks again for your help. I will splice it together somewhere.:)

Access roll-up tonneau cover, Factory radio W/Sirius, Tailgate clamp, HID head lights, Stainless nerf bars.
I installed Siruius with the factory satelite antenna, and no problems, works fine.

Cut the wire and spliced my cable to it and all is well without spending a dime. Now I need to put a cheap amp in to give the factory radio a little more pep.

i thought about splicing the cable, that was my very first idea, but i really hate cutting factory wires for any reason. so since the company that makes the adapter is here in colorado i drove over there and picked up the part. 70.00 to me is kinda like pocket change, time is money to me so a plug and play solution for that price was just what i needed. i could have used a shorter cable however since i mounted my xm receiver right next to the plug in the kick panel area.
but i can verify the adapter cable does work perfectly..

    THANKS - POSDCORB! Extremely helpful.

To back things up just a touch - I can build a house but I know nothing when it comes to engines...

I get how to sync the stock antennae with my external XM receiver - but how would I connect the power?

Ok, so I've only had my 2009 Tacoma for about 36 hours and want to install my Sirius S50 using the built in antenna. The posts here are extremely detailed, but before I order the adapter cable I wanted to plan this out.

My first snag is how to remove the left side kick panel. I'm not sure if I am just too afraid to break something or what. Is there a trick to this?

Everything basically needs a nice tug, pull slightly up from the door sill plate, and then pull directly back, it's only held in by tension. I'm assuming you just pulled up the black footrest, then unscrewed the black knob, after that, just follow the above directions. Easy squeezy.

I have a 2010 double cab with factory XM and JBL System. Will I need the SFA12M to connect to my pioneer z120bt with P920xm tuner or can I somehow use the factory wire that is with the XM module that is in my truck now?

I am installing this in my 2010 tacoma and see a yellow wire labeled battery that came with the XM radio, where do I tap that into?

thanks! I didn't want to use an aftermarket antenna but didn't think you could tap into the existing antenna w/ an aftermarket HU.
