The back-up camera display has stopped working in my factory head unit. All other functions of the radio display fine. Is there a way to test if it is the camera or the head unit?

Does your mirror show the camera?

I have a 2014 so the camera display is in the radio.

I can't believe nobody has an answer for this.

You could take the camera out of the tailgate and try to hook it up to a monitor.

9 times out of 10 it's the camera if all else is working, just verify power and ground to the unit in the tail gate and replace as necessary.

What happens when you put it in reverse now? blank screen or no change?

So that means it can still read the gearshift position at least. I'd recommend doing a voltage test next- find the nearest plug at the tailgate, unplug the cam, and see if there's a difference in voltage when the truck is in park and reverse. (Without running yourself over of course.)

If there is a difference, try replacing the camera next, as it's the cheaper of the two components. Better yet, find a buddy with a Taco and buy them beers to test by swapping tailgates for a few minutes.
