New here to the forum so what's up everybody,

I will pulling a dual axle uhaul about 950 miles in a few weeks. Total weight with trailer should be about 4k. This will be my first time pulling anything with a manual trans truck. Does anyone have any experience with this as well as any driving advice? I appreciate the response gents.

I have two trailers in the 3000-4000 range that I tow regularly. Your going to want to stay in each gear longer be in the power band of the engine. Don’t even consider using 6th gear and probably not 5th either unless it’s really flat ground.

FYI there is also development of a 2lo modification going on now allowing low gear without 4x4 which can help you reverse up an incline and steer easily. he's about to release the kit, maybe before your trip if you feel comfortable modifying a bit.

Yep, I have pulled the 6x12 2 axle uhaul trailers quite a bit. They tow nicely and track straight. If you have them loaded, backing up any kind of incline is a little rough on the clutch. Just take it easy and you should be OK. If you only need to back up straight you can use 4low, just be careful about not turning the steering wheel too much.

    2low is always an option.

Unless you can back up a trailer at 84 mph then try not to back up.
