Dirt collecting on fender

For anyone who has experienced this do you know how to stop this from happening?

It’s from your tires OP, not really anything you can do that I’m aware of

 

The dirt comes from the ground

 

It's not really coming from the tires. To be coming from the tires, I'd have to be backing up. I keep the truck super clean but a little dirt from a road and this is what I get. I KNOW it's coming through the seam. Guess you just live with it.

 

You could always run a bead of silicone on the inside of the joint....but i also think its coming off the tires.

 

It's just the design of the fender/bumper. Water splashing up around the wheel while driving is getting caught in the spot and exiting through the gap. Not really much you can do but live with it and keep a hose on stand by.

 

When you're driving forward in rain/mud/etc. that dirty water slings off of those tires in every direction. You wouldn't have to be backing up to cause this. That dirty road water makes its way through the bumper seam and then runs down. My 2015 was the same way.

 

Definitely from your tires.

 

Take your bumper off, no bumper, no dirt to get trapped in it.

 

This, get a hybrid bumper even

 

Pull the bumper extension flares off. Put a small piece of weatherstrip on it. This will fill the gap between the flare and the extension and stop mud/water from coming through.

 

Water can still go straight up into the fender while going forward.

edit: My question though was "with that big punch in the face on the bumper, why worry about it being dirty?"

 

They taking the tires off. They can't send water/mud flying if they aren't there.

 

Okay, thanks. Now I gotta figure how to get the bumper flares off. (Not mechanically good) Maybe have to search how to do that.

if you cover your truck with pin stripes the dirt doesn't stick anymore
