I sold mine. I didn't need it anymore.

Joking, lives on my separate key ring. I just keep my fob in my small jeans pocket, and keys usually stay in my lunch box or gym bag. Tailgate is locked all the time anyway.

Mine live in the center console. 2016 has a separate key for tailgate. In 4 years I don’t think I’ve used either key. My battery in my fob is still original too.
I like the hide a key option. I think I’ll do that and always have a key hidden on the outside of my truck.

I glued neodymium magnets to a hide-a-key with a military grade Ziploc underneath.

Mine showed up a day early based on tracking. Seems nice and I almost never ordered one. The sale sunday sold me to give it a try. Only time will tell how much I really like it.

I was wondering how to easily separate the stock key and I'm not sure if anyone's posted but I quickly realized the key in the fob is the perfect size.
    20190620_154208.jpg
    Already got it switched over!
    20190620_153424.jpg

My 17 came with a separate tailgate/glovebox key so I'll just keep that in the center console like @PapaRee posted.

Didnt think about getting locked out with a dead fob battery. I wonder if you can hold a dead fob up to the door like you can to the start button.:notsure:

I’m sure I’ll catch some flak for this but I think you should make a tray that goes over the parking brake handle. Maybe with a kinda trench around the side to put a cell phone in. My trucks auto so I never use the brake and a little more flat storage area by the shifter would be nice. I’ll take a free one for my idea!

No, you can only use the key.
After posting, I decided to get a hide a key with the magnetic base and put my key in it, then stash it under my truck in the frame.
I took pics and made a locked note in my phone so I wouldn’t forget about it.:fingerscrossed::thumbsup:

Fob finally came in the mail. So excited to finally have it definitely love the color. Has anyone else experienced where some of the buttons are looser than others??? Not a big deal just curious if anyone has experienced it.

I tightened the screws just little bit until the buttons were no longer loose. Just perfect! ☕️

I found the lock and unlock a little loose at first, but realized there was a black rubber square, about 1 cm x 1 cm, that was sticking to the back of the factory fob. Peeled that off and placed on the back of the pcb, reassembled, and tightened the screws until they were just a little snug and no more loose keys or rattle in either fob. I would make sure that your little black rubber square was transferred with the pcb, but neither of mine did without me peeling it off the factory fob. Others have done this and it seems to help most, although it doesn't seem to fix everyone's.

Thanks for the heads up I am going to pickup some double sided tape after work today. Hopefully that fixes it.

OMG. I had that Gameboy purple. I think I still have it on a box somewhere. That's pretty sweet.
