Not quite true... I posted the pic yesterday of my BIL 's issue... trd sport from 2011 and a 2017 4x4 shock did not match up. One Hitachi and one bilstein.... Hitachi was 2 inches shorter in typical Asian fashion.

Yah, that was kinda weird to see that difference, maybe the Bilstein was wrecked inside and overextended? AFAIK shocks swap easily from 3rd to 2nd.
