    ***Warning, Photo Heavy***

Ive been excited about building a 1/10 Tacoma since it was announced. The teaser photo was released and I knew I needed it.
    FB_IMG_1546309056671.jpg

Once it was ready for production, I as able to get my hands on it fairly quickly. It's comes as a kit you have to assemble. This is everything that comes with the kit. The details are amazing, this kit even has bed rails and lids for the storage compartments.
    FB_IMG_1561433438377.jpg

While assembling the body, I taped everything together to get an understanding of the body and the fitment of the pieces. I sanded down some of the areas that would be hard to get to if the body was glue together. I also sanded some of the edges of pieces before glueing. For glue, I recommend a good quality CA glue and kicker. This is what I used for this build.
    Screenshot_20190217-223502.jpg

After it was assembled, I couldn't resident a quick photo shoot.
    IMG_20190520_233153.jpg IMG_20190520_235411.jpg IMG_20190520_235426.jpg

I also had to through it on the chassis to see how it fit and if I made the correct measurements when extending the wheelbase. Please note the hood isn't glue, incase I want to make it open and build an engine bay. The tailgate also opens and closes.

I soon started on making a front bumper. I was planning on using Fusion 360 or another CAD program but I determined it was be faster to use styrene. I wanted to make it a honey badger style bumper. I didn't want anything that looked like a swollen bottom lip. Although I'm still torn between the honeybadger and a SSO slimeline style bumper.

    IMG_20190527_003604.jpg
    IMG_20190527_003555.jpg

Now it's time to start the long process of priming, and sanding. Still trying to figure out what bumper option I like, I took a picture of the options.

I was looking into what accessories where available and what I could use in my build. I discovered that the Proline Metric bedrack fits perfectly on the Tacoma. The bedrack has low profile legs as well as full size.

    IMG_20190615_095317.jpg

The low profile was more my style. During the process I have been sanding and priming to get a smooth finish. Their is still more work to be done. When I'm not working on the body, I put the body on the chassis and take more photos.

    IMG_20190617_103449.jpg
    IMG_20190617_103518.jpg

I'm still working on the TRD wheels. I made some hub caps for them. I painted one wheel low gloss black.
    IMG_20190628_233516.jpg

Through some LEDs in the light buckets. I left out the "high beam" because it was over powering the amber DRL.

    IMG_20190705_234242.jpg

About 85% of the sanding is done. Now it's just focusing on the small details and edges. I'm still working on a high clearance front bumper. I also need to adjust the rear axle over slightly to the right and mount the cab to chassis.
    IMG_20190811_224143.jpg
    IMG_20190811_225020.jpg
The Tent and the Gas Tank are fresh off the printer. The tent will probably be painted matte black but I'm open to suggestions.
I'm using the Gas Tank to mount the bed to using magnets. I'm going to add two more magnets in front of the rear axle to really secure the bed.

    IMG_20190811_225616.jpg
    IMG_20190811_230011.jpg

The tires were downsized for more of a scale look. It went from scale 42s to 36s, there is alot less rubbing in the front when turning.
    IMG_20190811_234501.jpg

The cantilever suspension gives about 3 inches of travel in the rear.
    IMG_20190811_225712.jpg
    IMG_20190811_225734.jpg

I've been working on the high clearance front bumper. Although it's still a work in progress. The centerhas a 3 inch light bar. The wings will get a 1 inch light bar.
    IMG_20190929_213957.jpg
The cab has been mounted to the chassis using 4 neodymium magnets. The magnets are strong enough to pick up the rig by the cab. I plan on using 2 more to ensure the cab is secure. The mounts were 3D printed with slots for height adjustments.
    IMG_20190922_200640.jpg
    IMG_20190922_200657.jpg

The tailgate is using 5mm magnets. They hold it firmly closed. They are mounted flush to insure smooth opening and closing.

Subbed for progress. What does the chassis look like without the body on it?

Let me know when you get the Pro wheels. I need the same as I had them for a long time. Dont think I will find SCS wheels. I'm also going to try and find a Prinsu rack.

You got your T4R wheels. How do you like them? Color you paint them will all depend on color if truck. At least for me it would.
