The 2 most popular brands are bestop and softopper. Differences are bestop has side windows and softopper has none. Personally, I prefer the softopper for the more rugged utilitarian look without the windows and rolled up. I usually rock with it up since I transport my dog around. Dont care for bestop side windows that can scratch and dirty up over time making viewing difficult. I'm experiencing this with the windows on my 98 TJ softop. The Bestop also has a bowed up shape in the middle due to the frame whereas the Softopper brand is not as pronounced. I like my softopper and about to add a cage over it to haul bikes , kayaks and possibly an RTT later down the road.

My Softtop has survived a direct hit by a hurricane on the NC coast and after several years still looks great with minimal care. Would recommend one to anyone. And costs much less than a hard top.

....and easily removed/installed for use of truck bed.

I’ve had several without any issues as well.

Which ever you choose, do not look into a Can-Back softopper. They probably have the best looking and most functional soft topper but many buyers have been burned trying to receive their products from this F rated company.

So far I've added an Advance folding bed cover and since removed it. Gave it to my son in Maine, he has an 05 2wd. GT perfect fit seat covers. Weathertech floor mats and window vent visors. Waag center brush/grill guard. Hose clamp tailgate mod. Turned off the seat belt chime. Added Ultra-Gauge. Trailer hitch. Softopper. Replaced sun visors with slide out style. Toyota bed extender. Had Firestone Destinations and now Michelin LTX AT2 in stock size. More mods to come; Fog lights, locking storage in bed, intermittent wipers. Now looking for Radio/HU upgrade. and maybe a lift way down the road.
I've had a softopper for about six years. It's holding up great. Easy off and on and weights a fraction of a hard shell. I recommend softopper.

The same shit everyone else has.
Had a Bestop for a few years until the novelty wore off.

Replaced it with a fiberglass shell and couldn’t be happier.

Love that my Softopper goes on and off easy, folds to store in the back of the shop and the easy access to gear when it's loaded.

I don't like the lack of security for items in the bed compared to a hard shell though.

If you are hauling big items most of the time, the soft top is a better choice since it is easy to remove.
