I'm planning on lifting my truck in August and starting to look at my options. I would like a 3 in lift . I road trip my truck about three times a year with a drive of about 1,500 miles each trip. I also have a camper which is a bit of weight plus whatever i add on top like wood. Im looking to spend about $1600 and i will install myself. Any advise on a good lift kit?
    -thanks

Depends on what you are trying to do - looks or function or both. I have OME Dakars (lots of links on them and others so do a search in the forum) and they added 2.5-3" at the rear and added Bilstein's and front is set at 1.75-2". Stock Toyota springs are junk long term and sag when towing or bed loaded and one cause of the shudder/vibration along with the 2 piece driveshaft. Alignment with stocks A-arms works for this package but if you go higher read up on this. You go too high the stability computer program may object also and off road the side angles may add tipping over issues. Again opinions are numerous on all these issues.

Save your money and get a real nice lift. You will save money in the long run. I am on my 3rd lift and wish I had just spent the extra money at the beginning of my project. Now I am wanting long travel and here I am wishing I had just bought a long travel kit at first. It's a vicious cycle. Good luck with your search.

Yeah exactly what I’ve gone trough. But long travel is $$!!!! For that he needs it can be done for fraction of the cost. Just needs good reputable brand and stay away from body lifts and junk parts.

I wouldn’t go for this. You get very little for a lot of $$$ lot is reusing factory leaf pack and front coils which aren’t very good as someone already said earlier. But I don’t want to be the hater if this fits your bill than why not it just for a bit more $$ you can get the “real deal”

It’s like asking which shoes you should buy. Those that fit best is the obvious choice. Research it out. Like I said I am selling practically new arb ome bp51 Kit plus HD leaf pack for a reasonable price if it’s somerhing you want /need. I can throw the upper control arms in as well for the right price.

Look for a used lift. I sold all of this for a grand.
And it only cost me a little over a grand for the front lift. Here is also a pic when it was on the truck. Don't be in a rush, good deals pop up here all the time. You will find something, visit the for sale thread every day. Good luck.
