i'm still trying to find a way to mount landing pads directly to the holes used in the OEM roof rack so i can add a forward crossbar when i need it. this is a 14' board and it overhangs the tailgate by about 5' when centered. i'd love to be able to move it forward by another 3'.

You might want to just go with one of those temporary attaching ones for across the roof when you need it. I wouldn't want to mess with taking up the seals for the roof rack mounts unless I was planning on permanently mounting something up there.

Btw, what size top/crossbars do you use there on your rack? I see they don't come with the uprights and have to be bought separately, and also that they are in a few sizes (S/M/L).

That's what I thought would be about the right size, so thanks for the confirmation!

My truck has a roll-n-lock tonneau cover. It keeps my cargo protected, but it leaks a bit during heavy rains. It is not 100% waterproof. What I like about this cover is that it is lockable and the process of opening and closing it is very smooth.

This looks awesome. How's the Pace Edwards holding up over the past year and a half? I'm considering either a Pace Edwards or the Retrax Pro rack compatible covers.

    None yet, here to learn
It's holding up well - I never did get around to adding the silicone to the drain tubes that's needed to make it totally waterproof though. I used ArmorAll on it once this summer to restore the original color, but overall it's holding up really well. It's probably at the point I need to take it apart and get all the pine needles out of the box, however. But in the PacNW you're going to have that issue with any retractable cover.

How do you like your Roll N Lock now that you’ve had some time to use? One of my top considerations.

Can anyone explain the issue with installing a cover for the trail package? Apparently you'll need to remove the storage boxes in the truckbed before you can install a cover. This is wild if it's true, I don't understand how Toyota doesn't have a fix around for this :\
