Hey guys. Doing a similar thing with my Tacoma (Hilux here in oz). I went ahead and bought a boomslang harness and have the haltech 1500 elite. Plugged it all in and set the trigger etc exactly the same as the screenshot earlier in this thread. Are there any other things I need to change to get it running? I understand it'll be rough but right now it turns over but won't fire.

CrownTown any other advice?

 

I would ask @05Taco4x4 for settings. He is currently driving on his 1500Elite and would be a better source at this moment!

I am waiting to have my truck shipped to my new location to finish up the install!

Hey man, i think i remember you running the LCE dual comp clutch.. do you have any issues with vibrations while decelerating in 3rd gear? I am having a nasty vibration from 2500-2000rpms in 3rd.. i have narrowed it down to the pressure plate being the culprit

 

Curious as to what makes you think the pressure plate is causing your vibes?

I have all heimed joints so i have a lot of vibes and shimmys lol too many to focus them down to the pressure plate

 

My factory clutch was slipping and tired, so I decided to put a lightweight flywheel and dual comp clutch in it. I never had any vibes while my factory clutch was installed.. Immediately after swapping out the clutch and flywheel, it had vibes while accelerating and decelerating like I described above. I didn't replace the pilot bearing when I did my clutch the first time so I started by dropping the trans again to replace that and eliminate it as a variable. After that, I started trouble shooting and thought it was just the ujoints going out, so I changed them all out. No change, so I decided to finally address my leaky rear ARB locker. Replaced my 3rd with a new built one from ECGS, with no difference. Then started to think maybe my trans was just on it's way out because it's lived a hard 250k mile life. Found a nice used trans for cheap w/ 77k on it and swapped it in, still had the same vibes. Started to read more online and found that lightweight flywheels can sometimes cause issues like this. Had my factory one resurfaced and took out the LCE one, still have the same issues. While I had the trans dropped to swap out flywheels, I noticed the center part of the pressure plate that the input shaft of the trans goes through is loose and has a little play in it. I have eliminated all other variables and it has led me to believe the pressure plate is the problem.

 

So the center hub is loose? Is it the dampening springs? Sounds like the clutch disc

 

Correct, center hub is loose. I am not sure what is causing it.. I have a cheap stock clutch coming in I can swap in so I can send this off to clutchmasters to be looked at

 

I was always concerned with the sprung hub design for rough use. Maybe a solid hub would be better? If you reach out to them, maybe inquire about a solid replacement option

yup! I believe i am running a higher duty valve, but the kit happened because they had my motor to work on so i'll take the little credit i can

 

What are the updates mayun?!
