You're on the right track, though I don't know if it'd be quite double :notsure:.
Shouldn't matter. Either way it is pushing the LCA down a distance of the height of the spacer. Both ways would yield a larger 'lift' than the actual size of the spacer because the end of the control arm moves more than the middle(where the shock is mounted). Hence the space between the clip positions on 5100s don't 1 for 1 equate to that amount of lift.

That sounds like it makes sense. Except, every other guy I've spoken to who runs a drop bracket lift with a 6" top plate spacer, gets 6" of lift. So I'm not too sure.

Did you try calling rough country ?

And do you have a side picture of your truck just so we can get an idea what were you looking at. So The front of the truck must be about 3 inches higher than the back. I think they use a 4 inch rear block on the rough country kit.

Yeah, OP's truck actually looks level in his first picture.

Take a picture of the CV angles when it's on the ground for us to see as well.

Your logic is correct, except that you have to subtract the 3" height of the drop bracket.

Good point. OP, you should also try asking this in the drop bracket lift thread.

I think you have it backwards. A top plate spacer will lead to double the lift of the spacer.

Do you have any pics of the axles when it was installed? Mine are almost horizontal on my 2.5" suspension lift. I'd be interested to see the difference. I'm adding a spacer to get to 3" this summer.

If your net lift from suspension is 4", that's way too high. You need a bigger drop bracket to get the right angles.

Well yeah, depends if the drop bracket is the same size as the spacer.

There seems to be contradicting information on this. I'm gonna go ahead and say I don't know then...

    Lol

The massive 5" spacer "would" add a ridiculous amount of lift, but it would run out of room with the control arms at the stock position. Since the drop bracket is moving the pivot point down, that changes everything.

A top mounted spacer will usually yield around double the height of the spacer on an otherwise stock suspension.

Jw if you use the 6" rough country Db lift and add the 5100s and put it at 2" would it throw the ball joint angles off real bad? Has anyone done it yet would like to ask a few questions

Would having the spring seat upside down cause any danger while driving?

Upside down spring seat is dangerous because the c - clip around the 5100 shock slots will have nothing holding it on. The springs seat in its proper direction is like a cup over the c-clip preventing it from spreading apart and un-clipping from the slots.
