Dear Friends ..... This SC is in need of the procedure required to recharge AC 2001 Tacoma 4 cyl 2.7L engine. How much refrigerant needed, etc? I presume the system is in need of a refill as there is no AC an unit does not start.

Any an all suggestions would very much be appreciated. Not much of a service person as I have never attempted or performed this operation. Would like to see if I can pull this off with the help of our family forum? Thank you very much! SP USAF 62-66

Kinda of tricky if you've never done it before, 134a is pretty touchy on charge levels. To much or not enough will not give you what you're after.

Hope this helps? Purchased a A/C STP Pro Kit Recharge Unit from Walmart .... probably could of purchased a lower recharge kit that they had. This came with hose & gauge and got about 34 oz of recharge units. Fast & Easy ... 10 minutes as the hype says :) !

Need to locate low pressure port than the rest of the procedures required? SP

Hope it works for you bud,, just take your time and do the research as to how far your system has deteriorated. Hopefully it just had a real sllllloooooowwww leak and you can just add a little at a time and get your results. If you have to open the system then it's a whole new ball game. Looks like that link that "Snowy" could walk you through it if needed,, just need to understand the terminology.

AC is one system that really should be done with someone with the right tools and knowledge. There is an outstanding chance that once you add refrigerant, it will find its way back out pretty quickly. Better option, would be to have someone put a vacuum on the system and find out how bad the leak is. Then, find and fix the leak. Otherwise, you really are just pissing money away. Also, refrigerant with 'leak seal' is not a good way to fix it and can create all sorts of other issues. Just sayin..

Well if its low on charge you have a leak and better fix that first before trying to recharge it
