    I like these.

I have the expensive versions of these but only because my mom got them for me for my birthday several years ago.
I like them though I have never gotten them set just right. They are close but they are all set to different pressures so I just air all of them down till they stop and then if they went to low fill it backup with the ARB Twin Compressor.

Same here, my first set of those were free actually...found them in the dirt at the MJT staging area a couple years ago lol. Actually Brian did and he kept them but gave me his old ones.

Then I managed to lose those (karma maybe) and got another set for xmas last year, but I think they were the $30 ones too.

I have the boulder tools version of those deflators. Don’t know if they’re better or worse yet, but I look forward to trying them. I have an ARB single compressor that powers my lockers as well, I wonder how long it takes. Need an off road run that isn’t on a Saturday. :pout:

The single is still pretty quick, probably comparable to a 400p I imagine.

The MF-1050 air compressor from Pep Boys is also a pretty good compressor. It can be had for cheap when PepBoys does the discount coupons. I've been running it for 3 years now.

I've had my 2 harbor freight straps for years. That Motormic Kit is a pretty good deal with the shackles and Hitch

All this compressor talk... CO2 ftw..

Went up last Sunday but it was about 95-100 degrees up to the top. Still a good run. Would love to go again but next time! Stay hydrated! Have fun!

x2, used my compressor on the last trip and I forgot how long it takes and how annoying it is.

I always just used a valve stem puller and a guage to air down, or if you're at pismo, just wait for the whistle to get you at 12psi. I got an ARB thingy in a raffle and it's been pretty cool so far. Baby tires don't take long to do anyway.

yep I've got bunch of the little black and red valve core removers in both trucks... and plenty of trail spares.

Wait for the whistle usually 15-12ish haha. Just don't drop the valve core.

picked this kit up $6 on Amazon.

Also low pressure gauge has been money. Actually found it in the snow running bald mountain up in shaver lake years ago. Similar to @eon_blue.

Randomly just was looking back at that shaver trip 2009 :anonymous:
Is it winter yet! ready for some snow wheeling!

I was just talking to someone the other day about doing Shaver Lake sometime. Hear there's some good tough trails out there

I've old run bald mtn up there a few times.. all in the snow... one year we made it 4 miles off the road to the "trail head" in like 3 or 4 feet of snow. in like 4 hrs only too turn around and head back.. few years later we made it all the way to the the top of bald mtn. Good times..

I'd be down to do a run up there, unfortunately pretty busy for the next few months.

Holy shit is that one of the Camel Trophy Land Rovers??? Or just a replica? Even if a replica that's still really freaking cool

I watched a youtube mashup of all the Camel Trophy runs recently, looked like an awesome event...too bad it lost it's way toward the end and then got cancelled

That's a piece of history right there, that's awesome. I read somewhere that there were only a few left known to still be in good condition.

Yeah those metal recovery boards are cool, I've seen those on a few rigs before...usually big/heavy ones that would likely snap a plastic Maxtrax in half in one use.

Dusy is alright, but a bit long and bumpy...

Swamp lake is one of my favorite trails but maybe a bit rough for the taco in some places

Red lake/Sand Flats is a good area for the tacoma.

I love it up there, tons of options....

Other then what's mentioned below there's also a few more tough trails. Are you front locked?

You forgot slow when choosing your adjectives for the Dusy. It's a damn fine trail but it's the real deal as far as A game driving goes.

I'm doing Swamp in August. How's it compare to the Dusy and the Con as far as difficulty. And no, I'm not a bypass kind of guy. If there's an obstacle I point my rig at it not away from it. lol

I haven't done the Con in probably 10 years so hard to say, but I'd guess easier than the Con. A stockish S-10 with a welded diff was with one trip until he blew up his aluminum driveshaft just after rooster rock. The hill dropping down to Swamp can be a bit Rocky and tight with trees. I only went in and out from a road off of a side road from Dinky Creek I forget the name of. Swamp is a great trail.

I'm not stock and I'm also not a Taco. My rigs a 97 4runner auto dual locked dual cased. I just did the Rubicon a week ago. My buddy I did it with thought it was harder then the Dusy. I thought it was easier. We already have plans to do the Dusy in the fall and Swamp seemed like a logical one to add to this years runs. If we also manage to squeeze in Fordyce I think I can retire from hard wheeling. lol

I did most of the dusy with zero effort in a SAS on 37s pickup. The hill from Courtwright reservoir is a bit Rocky, otherwise the trail wasn't bad. It's just really long and slow, and bumpy, and dusty. I really like swamp because it's got great scenery, can be mildly difficult, but isn't too long. You could wheel into the lake in about 4-6 hrs and relax all Saturday or day trip around and explore.
