factory side step, didn't get a chance to do anything to it yet, haven't even got to put it in 4 wheel mode yet. Lame, but I work a lot.
That is a great idea with the storage boxes. Another thing to think about is the back of the seat. I bought seat covers that have tactical storage pocets, which is convenient to store stuff like flashlights or some tools/camping items.

Here’s my 2014 platform. Did the 60/40 split at the suggestion of someone on here. Last pic is after the headrest were out but it was dark out.

Still need to get the seatbelts out but it’s prettymuch done.

Finally got a trunk organizer. Makes it easier to store stuff that was thrown in the back of the cab such as boots, rain coat, hats, etc.

I ordered the 2 Dewalt DWST17807 tool boxes and the BedRug for my AC.

I needed a place to store my Smittybilt 2780 air compressor and tire tools so I cut to fit some 1/8" rubber sheeting to fit the Dewalt tool box, then cut two small quarter inch slots in the underside of the Dewalt toolbox lid's reinforcements to allow the lid to fully close over the base of the compressor. This setup holds the Smittybilt air compressor snugly inside when the lid is closed. There is also plenty of extra room for the Smittybilt accessories including tire plug kit, air gauges etc.

The rep said storing the Smittybilt compressor on its side would pose no issues, he liked this setup. Just be sure to let the compressor cool down before storing it in the Dewalt box.

    20190725_203148.jpg20190725_202331.jpg

The second Dewalt tool box will hold recovery and tow straps, tree hugger strap, D rings etc. I plan to store a power puller hand winch in the bed.

I was looking for a way to utilize the extra cab in my 99 and this is what I came up with. I removed the jump seats, seatbelts & back paneling. I fit a piece of plywood against the back wall using the existing bolt holes in the cab so that it was very firm like part of the truck. I then made the shelving into two sections so that I could get it in the back easier and assemble once back there. The shelving is attached together and it’s attached to the plywood. It’s very solid, I also raised the cabinet about a inch above the floor it ultimately fit better this way. I keep a larger bottle jack that can work with my lift in the larger existing storage hole that wouldn’t fit pryer to this and towing chain in the smaller. This may not be for everyone but is working awesome for me. Just thought I’d share Incase someone was looking for similar ideas. Thanks

Awesome thread... like the dewalt boxes but are lower than the storage compartments. Do you elevate them somehow?

They are flush with the storage compartment. Center console has to come out.

In my 2019, it's flush. Center console not an issue, I placed a HF security box there to take up the void. Perfect.

Thanks for this thread. It's given me a lot of ideas. I'm ordering the full rear molle panel for my 09 AC and I think between the boxes, the safe, and the truckmat, I can then have my dog sit back there comfortably. :D

    My Access Cab mod variation:

I took out the seats (12mm socket), but haven't pulled the back panel yet to remove the headrests (still waiting on the tools to pull the bolt access panels). I left the console between the two back seats (it makes a nice pedestal for my boots and the holder in the front is handy for temporarily holding tools). I did the DeWalt boxes
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B6K4V80/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

topped with a cutup Bedrug (use a hacksaw and have the carpeted side up when you cut - if you have the shiny side up, the carpet ravels).
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0097JQ32O/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

In between the Bedrugs and in front of the console are two plastic ammo boxes (they currently contain water and snacks for when I'm in traffic or out in the field, not ammunition).

On the back wall are an auto organizer (snapped into place around the headrests) with rain gear, gloves, and my safety vest
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0768938CP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and a hook for holding a 300' tape. Slipped it in behind the plastic to the left of the headrest and it holds nicely.
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KHP2M40/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Not really seen in the photo are the hooks on the backs of the fronts seats holding my hardhat and ears - they're flexible so you can bend them to fit what needs to be hung on them.
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07ZDDLD4T/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Not shown is all the stuff I pile on the Bedrugs.

    Cost me about $110.

I'd really like to fully pull the seats and install the utility panel (and soundproofing) or a molle board. Has anyone gotten the panel and knows the parts number?

Made a support to fit over the hump in the middle and 2 supports to lift the platform over the work boxes to access them easier. Probably going to put some carpet on it soon
